I think this will turn into the biggest mistake in our republics short history. His policies so far are not sound and his social decisions will have far reaching consequences-looks like a lot of reaching into our pockets. I do not like the lifting of the gays in the militarty ban, I do not want more welfare for corporations or banks and I think he is taking us down a rosy soundy but very rough road to a socialist society with a serious cutting down of our individual rights. I am disappointed so far in his choices, as the candidate of change he sure is getting a lot of Clinton hacks and theirs was a very corrupt admin, maybe he will keep his promise and his will be different, so far it looks like he is playing the repayment game-all his radical causes are getting handed everything they want and the people who did not vote for him ie:most workers, chrisitans and conservatives, are getting effed over and left out. We shall see.

History...Regardless of outcome, success or failure of the new administration that fact will remain the same. I challenge anyone to say that the 2008 election will not go as a huge turning point in America! Even if this administration goes bad it still had positive implications for our future...And no party line holders don't bring up just your socialism fears either that's not what I mean....So don't even start with that.

November 4th 2008 was the day when Americans made the greatest mistake in history by electing marxist communist with muslim background for the highest office in the land and most powerful man in the world. Today he is in position to reverse and destroy the gains made by pro democracy movements around the world and advance totalitarianism in the worst tradition of soviet-nazi style marxism. So many of Obama maniacs say his critics are wrong and he has not done anything yet and give him a chance. After he does what he wants it will be very costly to reverse the damage so he must be opposed every step of the way. The comming mid-term election should bring back republican majority to Senate at least and if possible Congress.

If you knew what you were talking about at all you would know the term...."soviet-nazi style marxism" you used makes absolutely no sense and in fact impossible to mix by definition or by historical standards. Disagree all you want with policy but cut the inflammatory, childish, biased talking points. It really doesn't help you or anyone else.

Don't get me wrong I am not at all trying to takeaway your right to do that...by all means. In a public forum though if you say something that doesn't make logical sense though expect someone to point that out, that's all. You can do just as much and strongly disagree with him and not use exaggerated terms. I said the same thing to the people who called Bush a Nazi as well.

I think Obama is smart, charismatic, a leader through diplomacy not fear unless called for. I like his vetting process for his staff. Yes, I think this is a positive turn of the page in American history. I think his challenges are no greater than another great unproven president: Abraham Lincoln.

I'll hold my opinion until President Obama has some time actually in his position. To condemn him or heap praise upon him at this stage is pretty pointless. He isn't even officially in charge yet. Give it time and we'll all know the right answer to the question.

A rebirth of what? A rebirth for America would be taking us back to the founding fathers' principals and that is definitely not what 0bama is bringing to the table. I don't think it's a day that will live in infamy either; just a sad day with potential consequences that could impact the way we live in a very negative way.

I think there are some who will always fear change of any kind. To survive as a nation we must constantly change, especially being a multi-cultural nation as we are. The world is changing all around us right now, and the US is one of the major forces creating that change for better or worse. As capitalism and democracy becomes a global standard, of course we will start to operate as a world governance. This will account for many conspiracy theorists to freak out, but no world leader of any powerful nation can escape the responsibility of working toward a unified world. I look forward to seeing the progress the world makes together.

Fear change? Um ... no. Wanting change just for the sake of change doesn't automatically make it right. Not all change is a good thing - as in all things common sense must apply.

Than we disagree. You are happy with things just as they are. I, on the other hand, am very unhappy with the direction the last eight years has taken us in. The change Barack Obama has spoken about in his writing is exactly the kind of change in leadership this country needs in my opinion. That is why I voted for him. You obviously feel that more of what we had was your cup of tea. We obviously don't share the same sensibilities.

I didn't say I was happy with the way things were. It's kind of silly of you to assume that because I didn't like the change 0bama was offering that I dislike change completely.
  • Comrade... Trader1... 2009/01/16 21:44:21
    Comrade Sean
Well, I for one have no fear about the change Obama is talking about. It's nearly the same as the Clinton administration and I was very happy with Clinton. I looked at McCain and he seemed to actually become George W over the course of his campaign. I did admire him before he started to kind of devolve into a far right conservative. In my opinion, it seemed like he was a sacrificial lamb for the Republican party.

If you feel 0bama's change nearly mirrors Clinton, how is that change? Change from Bush maybe, but not the change 0bama promised on the campaign trail. McCain was as far from being a conservative as he could get without actually becoming a liberal but I won't argue with your view, we both see things through different perpectives.

Lenin's label for western liberals, socialists and idealistic true belivers in communism was "useful idiots."

According to ex-KGB officer Yuri Bezmenov after the "useful idiots" served their purpose they become "useless idiots" who know too much so they are shot by their former comrads.

For example; Castro had Che Guevara killed, Stalin ordered execution of Leon Trotsky who was killed by the communist agents in Mexico in 1942, Hitler ordered Ernst Roehm be killed in 1934.

He's not even been sworn in yet and we are seeing proof of what the next 4 years are going to be like. Look at his cabinet picks - the majority are crooks; then look at how the Dems are already rushing new Spend! Spend! Spend! legislation through Congress with barely a whimper from the Repubs. Reagan must be rolling over in his grave!

Infamy: when rogues like Chavez and Amadidijan send gratulations to O, it sends a dire message. They approve of the election of a total incompetent person who will be soft on terrorists and corrupt leaders like themselves. The wealthy left bought this election and all of us will suffer.

They must. They saw the President they voted for do horrible damage to our country over the past eight years. And they saw the rest of us vote to reclaim America's soul on Nov. 4th.
