Makes perfect sense to me. I know that if I had a job and I didn't do it I would be fired, too bad we can't fire most of them and start over with business men and women instead of a bunch of damn lawyers.

Exactly, the US is in reality a business, money come in and money goes out, we're supposed to turn a profit like any business and have a budget too. Business men and women understand that, it's obvious that very few members of our Congress have the slightest clue.

If employees in the private sector performed as poorly as those responsible for the running of this country, they would find themselves without a job. Sadly, even when the electorate finally "fires" these inept "employees", they'll leave with lucrative severance packages those of us who pay their salaries can only dream of.

It's the benefits and perks that have to go away. They are costing the country a fortune. Lower their pay to a reasonable amount and toss the benefits. It's disgusting that they are reaping the benefit of high rewards for little work while the country is suffering and unemployment is still over 8%.

Three years, no budget.
Countless bills sent up by the House only to be bottled up in committee or tabled outright by Reid in the Senate.
They have NOT done they jobs and until they do, they should simply turn back their checks to the revenue service.

Not just a budget ... Obama has offered plenty of screwy budgets proposing deficit spending. They need to pass a balanced budget. If there's a deficit, cut spending. Or else no Congressional paycheck.

Congressional salaries should be suspended when the budget expires. No "continuing resolution" band-aids.

Like any other important task in a business, tie it to management compensation and it gets done.

I agree, I have never seen such a useless inept congress as this one. Passing a budget is their job. I those democrats that have sat on their ass for over 3 years without doing their job should be voted out of office. If any other American failed to do their job they would be fired. Unless they are part of a union that is.

It's no wonder there's a stalemate in Congress. There've been sitting there doing nothing for years but reaping the benefit of a hefty paycheck and benefits. It's time to give them a message by voting them out and reminding them that the American people are their bosses.

Let's see... Who is going to pass that bill? Be careful what you ask for. We might get a budget worse than what we have. Although, with republicans running the house, I feel pretty good about it. I wonder how much of the income for most congress critters comes from their official salary. I'm guessing that many of them might not even miss it. :(
