Sorry. I couldn't stand to watch the slideshow. IMHO this Major Hassan should've been long ago tried, convicted and punished for his crimes. If he has, then I missed it in the media.

The Major last time I heard was having trouble getting a bank to cash his paychecks and his lawyers had gone public to try and get something done about it.

The Major probably got 100% disability from the VA based on his paralysis resulting from the killing/shooting that he caused. The Obama administration is probably mulling naming some Army base after the Major since the USA is no longer a Christian nation and has a much higher Muslim population than anyone cares to guess.

If ever folks thought they were living in the

    twilight zone

this would have to be it. The USA in 2012.

Tommy has a good idea. He will probably be given a nice, upscale cell and 72 virgins by the White House. Bullet soaked in pigs blood

What bothered me, more even than the shootings, were the reaction of the leadership. General George Casey, the then- Chief of Staff of the Army, instead of apologizing for creating a climate where officers were too afraid to report and deal with Maj. Hassan due to fears of career blow-back, was concerned that the incident might damage the progress toward ' Diversity'.

President Obama, once he finally went to Ft. Hood, only after being upstaged by a quiet visit by former President and Mrs. Bush, babbled about how the Native Americans got screwed. Neither appeared to care in the slightest for the slaughtered solders.

He's a sub-human Islamic terrorist who should have been executed within days of the savage murders he committed.

COL Gross set a trial date of March 5, 2012, for Hasan's court martial, where he faces the death penalty if unanimously convicted by a 12-member jury of U.S. military officers.

The death penalty in the military. Is it effective? Is it carried out in days/months vs many. many years in the USA civil system?

It is not carried out in the civil system. He will be sentenced to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas probably for several years. It has been some time since the last execution in the military system.

1961 I just read. This case screams for justice and an immediate execution (following his customary one appeal) thereafter. Americans want this. Americans need this. But due to PC, they are likely not to get it.

There are not supposed to be 'quick' executions in the American system of justice. Not an opinion, just the way our system is designed. I worked at Fort Leavenworth for nine years in the United States Disciplinary Barracks (the military prison). His life will not be plesant there until such time that his execution is carried out.

Don't forget. He's in a wheelchair. That's tough enough. I doubt Ft Leavenworth will make it much tougher.

No elevators outside of a freight elevator at Leavenworth.

They will use the existing freight elevator as they have done for previous handicapped prisoners.

But those weren't so HIGH PROFILE. His lawyers will complain he has to use a freight elevator, they will contact the mainstream media, a media storm will result and the US government will cave.

Mental handicaps don't count. remember the inmates were active duty military just prior to going in. I spent nine years there and never once saw an inmate in wheelchair.

Why not use Sharia Law instead? Found guilty, take him outside, bullet through the head. Send bill for execution to next of kin. PERIOD

We're too PC for that. That would be an ideal solution but I don't want Muslim law making any more inroads into our American lives than they already have.
