I believe that out of all of the candidates Newt would make the best president and he is not a nutcase! I feel the very best candidate has already been eliminated from the list and the country could have had it so much better but we have many more unintelligient people in the United States now and so they keep making bad choices and that is what we are left with. But out of all I will vote for Newt!

It doesn't help anyone to characterise a candidate as a nutcase. That kind of judgement reflects on everyone who has voted for him so far, everyone has given money for his campaign. Stick with arguments. If one of his policies is wrong, say so and explain why.

Newt Gingrich: "I will tell black people to demand paychecks instead of food stamps"

And really out of touch with reality. The way he talks down to black people (as though they're ALL lazy, good-for-nothings who are all on welfare and cheating the system) is ridiculous. Yea, there's a big issue with poverty within the black community, but they aren't the only ones ever on welfare or ever the only ones cheating the welfare system. People from every race and walk of life (except, I suppose, the ones above the poverty line) go through it too. >:|

actually that was the media putting words in his mouth. check out what he actually said in the context he said it and you'll see it wasn't condesending at all.

Wow! I never thought a post of mine would grab the attention of Batman! Dreams really do come true! ;)

Oops! I checked politico and what he said in context was, indeed, not as bad as the media depicted it (something about being a food stamp president verses a paycheck president). Thanks for the heads up! Still, he's said some other things recently that still sets me against him...but I guess I'll have to look at the full context of those, too. :P

P.S. I'm a big fan of your work, sir Batman sir! *bows*

To say all blacks are on welfare is racist. I know a lot of whites on welfare too ya know. I cannot stand newt.

I will say this though, when he said obama is the food stamp president, he meant he made more people go on food stamps than any other president.

My pet peeve is why do We have to keep International waterways open and China never has to help? We make it safe for them to transport FREE of charge and wonder why they have all the money.

Clinton was a horndog, too. i had no problem with it.

maybe its unimportant when you consider how f'd up the country is and the other 3 republicans and 1 democrat are sorely unprepared to correct it.

The trouble with that is Clinton never once claimed to be a Conservative. Newt is trying to get us all to believe that he is a Conservative when he really isn't. Sort of like lying to us all isn't it.

it has nothing to do with conservative values. it sure does have something to do with a family values.

maybe there is an intersection, but it has nothing to do with his ability to lead.

Obama is, purportedly, a family man but a lousy leader. Gingrich has a leadership track record but was a lousy husband.

i'd choose Gingrich every day of the week and twice on sunday.

There's nothing wrong with big dreams. If the Wright bros. didn't dream about flying we would have airplanes. I am sure people said that idea of flying was nuts. What about computers, who would have thought u could use electronics that would allow u to chat or search the web. What about cars and Henry Ford, or Steve Jobs and Apple. Look at the left liberals, they dreamed big when they gave us obama. A president that was constitutionally ineligible, pro communist, anti christian and a muslim sympathizer. That would just absolutely try to destroy America. Big dreams / all American. Nothing wrong with Newt dreaming out loud. Besides he scares the hell out of the left, democrats and the Rino republicans that have taken advantage of us all.

Newt is definitely no conservative. But he's very clever, and he knows his true platform would go over like a lead balloon in a primary, so he's become an absolute master at appropriating conservative rhetoric and regurgitating conservative applause lines. Unfortunately, most of the people who find themselves rooting for Newt right now are seniors and others who don't have internet access and must take the word of the Old Media that this guy is legit.

This is a man who has praised Franklin Delano Roosevelt as "the greatest President of the 20th century", criticized Ronald Reagan for not conforming to the foreign policy style of Harry Truman, and classified himself as a "Realpolitik Wilsonian" out of the "Theodore Roosevelt-LaFollette Progressive tradition." Could he be any clearer in the expressed intentions for his administration? And yet, because the carefully vetted and restricted cable media tells us to throw bouquets at him, we're really about to oblige them?
