LOL - uh, yeah.
Edit -
I don't know about it being too "risque." But "The first gay president" leaves one with the impression that he himself is gay. Pretty sure that would come as a shock to his wife. lol

It was kind of a big deal when Barack Obama became the first U.S. president to openly support gay marriage -- enough for the some to joke that he was "coming out of the closet," so to speak. But Newsweek took it a step further on the cover of this week's issue, dubbing Obama "the first gay president," along with an image of the president under a rainbow halo. It's a striking statement, no matter what side of the conversation you're on. But is it going a little too far?
Andrew Sullivan, an openly gay Newsweek journalist, wrote of Obama's announcement, "Like many others, I braced myself for disappointment. And yet when I watched the interview, the tears came flooding down. The moment reminded me of my own wedding day. I had figured it out in my head, but not my heart. And I was utterly unprepared for how psychologically transformative the moment would be. To have the president of the United States affirm my humanity — and the humanity of all gay Americans — was, unexpectedly, a watershed." Still, was Newsweek's cover a little too risque?

Yes

But, on the other hand, I think this particular move champions the Constitution more than any other move he's made. Frankly, I find just about every other decision he's made as President absolutely contrary to the Constitution. But this is the first time I can support him.
If Obama has such a history, it really doesn't affect much, does it?
It's his policies that are in question, his decisions as President that are in question.
Who gives a fig about who he has/has had sex with?
But if you believe that The President of the United States of America should discriminate & pick & choose who should receive protection under The Constitution, I do find that quite perverse.
Our constitution is meant to protect everyone. The government issues marriage licenses. A marriage is a contract. Therefore, the idea that the government discriminate against consenting adults & prevent them from entering into a contract, is quite unconstitutional. The President's job is to support the rights of everyone, regardless whether or not he agrees with or likes them. So, for example, even though he likely abhors the White Knights, the Aryan Nation & the KKK, he still has to protect their constitutional rights. It isn't his job to agree with or like everyone. It's his job to protect the constitutional rights of everyone.
Unfortunately, from what I've witnessed, this is the first time he's actually behaved in line with The Constitution. He has not been a good supporter of The People's right to liberty. However, this time he is.
He is not king. He is the President, therefore, Congress has as much to do with the laws of our land as he. He does not stand alone in decision making.
It would behoove everyone to get that straight.
Are you drunk?
James Buchanan was gay & the USA survived & carried on.
Every single president has had affairs except for Jimmy Carter... & look at how great a president he was. I don't think the quality of a president's determined by who he has sex with.
And let's get real, shall we? Mr. Obama's married with two children & is President of the United States. What sort of answer do you think he'd give?
Besides that, even if all the banter about male lovers, etc. were true, how does all this garbage being in the media all the time, affect his daughters? I'm sure you have a thing or two in your past you wouldn't want your kids to hear about every single time they turn on any of their media devices.
It would behoove the entire nation... maybe even the whole freaking world... were we to focus on his policies & decisions, not on his sex life (past or present).
If you can't be content simply reporting the news, then create controversy regarding the news. A simple formula for ignoring your news.
A new religion is starting. I just don't know what it will be called yet nor who will be the official neighborhood organizer who will be ordained "The One." It has happened before, it will happen again. I think it will basically be the second coming of Buddha. He was pretty OK and didn't use much gasoline.
I suppose you are for equal rights for child molesters too? They cannot help it either, they were bone that way too. Obama should have his picture on a $3 Bill.
This is actually Obama's first move that I can support. It is the most constitutional thing he's done in his term.
And it's all Biden's fault - LOL!
Who cares?
Do you have any idea what college students do these days? These are the same people who will be running our nation in the future.
There has never been a requirement for sober austerity in character to be in government... ever. They say only one president didn't cheat on his wife & we can all pretty much agree that he was the most useless president in recent history (Jimmy Carter).
All this blah blah about Mr. Obama's past is just boring, if you ask me. Bush was a drunk, a coke user (maybe addict), screwed around, Cheney was known to be quite the busy boy, so did Clinton & I'm pretty sure that if you were to check the history of all the rest, you'd find pretty unsavory secrets... all the way back. It's been done already. There are books in publication if you're interested.
But politics is a dirty business. We tend to elect the best salesmen/women, not the best characters. We allow those who lie the best to take the highest positions. We always have & likely will continue.
Everyone likes to tout a mantra a integrity. But when a man with true integrity comes on the scene, he is belittled & demeaned by those very people.
You want a picture of integrity?
