It's pretty sick to abuse one's legislative (lawmaking) power to steal body parts of deceased family-members of other people in the state of New York, against their wishes.
There is a line that one should know not to cross, in trying to keep a loved one alive. Crossing a line, over to stealing body parts, is a line that should NOT be crossed.
Another new piece of info is that the assemblyman, Richard L. Brodsky is now seeking the office of New York Attorney General: http://www.richardbrodsky.com/
I spoke with my state senator and was told that the chances of Brodsky's presumed donor bill passing into law, are not very high. But we all know how things get slow boiled, till they pass. -- Brodsky currently has 13 co-sponsors.

If you choose to sell most all you have and give to the poor, then your heart is happy from the help you have done for others. But if your government comes in and takes most all of what you have to give to the poor, you feel violated and stolen from.

Death is a very personal thing. Everyone deals with death in his/her own way. And it is not up to anyone to tell someone else how to deal with the death of a loved one. The handling of the dead body by loved ones is a very personal and private part of handling the death of someone loved and cherished. We do not justify stealing in America, no matter who wants to do it. Here in America we have freedom, even the freedom to take care of our own loved one's body after death. And there comes no greater American Patriot than a person who defends American freedoms. -- The body belongs to the family. It is they who are and should be the true donors, willing donors, if anything is donated at all. And no one should shame a person for not being able to handle the donating of their loved one's organs. Everyone deals with death in his/her own way. Death is very personal.

Were it up to me the organs would be harvested and the body sewn up to make it look like nothing ever happened before the body is released from the hospital to the family and they are none the wiser and can go on to bury or burn the body which will never be seen again anyways.
Its more important to me too save lives then to let people toy with thier superstitions. Sorry but thats me on this topic :P
I am talking family members who are not able to handle the thought of mom, sister, brother, dad, etc., being sliced and diced like a piece of meat for others to live off of. I'm talking about family members who would see such as the state being vultures, attacking the body of a loved one.
Willingly donating is one thing. Forced and or tricked into donating, is a violation and not true donation. --It is stealing.
Saving the life of one person, is not a reason to ruin the lives of family members who are left behind to deal with that which they see as a violation, theft and mutilation of a loved one's body.
The body belongs to the family. It is the family who has to deal with what happens. And our government does not have a right to treat people's exiting out of this life, as a means to getting body parts for others.
Donations should be willful, bottom line!
