Everything about the weather has changed, because it all takes place now in the context of the warmer world that we have created. Research indicates that we have already reached the warmth of the Holocene Maximum - the warmest period of the last 100,000 years - and the extremely rapid rise in global temperature shows no sign of slowing down. The lag in the climate system means that today we are only seeing the results of greenhouse gas concentrations from several decades ago, so there is much more inevitable warming in the pipeline, whatever we do now. This does not bode well for humanity.
