NEW REAL ESTATE TAX... COULD THIS BE TRUE?

Related Topics: Obama, Democrat, Sales Tax, Estate Tax

Remember all that discussion about the Congress not reading the entire healthcare bill? Well here are a few details that they aren't bragging about.

Under the new health care bill - did you know that all real estate transactions are now subject to a 3.8% Sales Tax? The bulk of these new taxes don’t kick in until 2013 (presumably after Obama’s re-election).

You can thank Nancy, Harry and Barack and your local Democrat Congressman for this one. If you sell your $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax.

This bill is set to screw the retiring generation who often downsize their homes. Is this “Hope & Change” great or what?

We can vote the bums out in November and demand that they eliminate the bill or at the very least defund it. Then in 2012 repeal it.
You!

Hey now... Obama, Pelosi and Reid all said very clearly that we needed to pass the bill so Everyone "INCLUDING themselves" would know what is in it.... LMAO

Those people that were against the bill won't be surprised when the poop hits the fan... but all the fools that were so hyped up on all that free health care are going to freak out when the cost of this free stuff hits them in their wallets...

They still don't know what's in it, and will probably be amending it all the time.

More troubling, I still cannot figure out who this reform benefits other those not already covered by a low income service namely the illegal immigrants and it provides a large amount of government jobs. If you currently have a great insurance plan thru your employers, you’re in for a big surprise within the next two years if your company has not already discussed this with you.

We are getting screwed by useless politicians that don't give a damn about the American's that gave them their job. These people are supposed to be serving us not screwing us.
Vote every person that voted yes on health care out of office in 2010.

Hey there slotdoc, have a question for ya on this. Is that on the sale or the purchase of real estate? Or, worse yet, both ends?

Not sure yet, I'm trying to make heads or tails of it, but no doubt they'll get us coming and going.

It doesn't matter. In the end the buyer always pays the tax, one way or another. Most of the time with interest

I suppose. I gave my bid on my house which was $2,000 less then they wanted and then asked for half the closing. In the end the sells walked away with $1200 more then they owed.

The majority of sellers & real estate salesmen have all of that figured into their asking price. Those sellers probably looked at it like we still made $1200 in the end

LOL, after 17 years, they walk away with 1200 bucks? Then again I ended up with a headache. Powder post beetles, illegal wiring and 17 years of 5 pack a day peoples smoke into everything. Oh, did I mention their porch gray paint job on the inside of the house? LOL, it was still worth the 60K I paid.

And you know chances are they knew about every little thing wrong with the house and some you have yet to find. the worst part of the smoking is that you never really get rid of the smell without ripping everything out and starting over, that will make it easier to fix the wiring too and upgrade the insulation

They had to and the home inspector must have just done a drive by. He was a guy 6'6" and about 300lbs. I walked into the back bedroom and literally fell through the floor (I'm 6'1" and 175lbs.). It was eaten up by beetles. I have so far pulled up over half the floors and replaced all the joists and flooring. I'm lucky the wiring is all in the attic because there is no crawl space to speak of.

You probably have a dirt floor in the cralwl space. I have been in construction for over twenty years that is still nothig compared to what I have seen people do to their own houses thinking they did a really good job. As far as inspectors go some of them only take a class to be come one and know absolutely nothing about construction or houses except that they live in one

It is dirt and about 12 inched deep. It was built in 1946 out of concrete block. I'm going to have fun when I do the windows. Metal cased and concreted in. No wood at all. I know what you are saying about wanna be builders, they will half ass everything and think they are doing a great job. I have the old knob and tube wiring. They put in a new panel and pig tailed romex onto the ends of the old wire into the panel. Fun, fun, fun.

I smoke outside. Put an entire new roof on it, upgraded the A/C, and have a swamp cooler for when it's not too humid, and had to upgrade the elecrical on the business side of the house, because it just didn't seem to be able to handle the load. Now I'd rather keep it. It sits right beside the 4th fairway of a nice golf course.

In a few years that Golf course may become your biggest asset. My brither had a cond in Fla on a golf course, he ended up getting more than his asking price because of it

10 years ago I could have made $25K easy selling my home. If I tried to sell it now, I'd be just as much in the red.
