now NJ is turning away NON UNION crews that drove all the way from Alabama and other states to help with the relief efforts
and clean up and all the states have crews coming there way..so NJ and NY and you other states that let the unions run your lives; You deserve your misery; you want to see a slow recovery and your lives in chaos for months and years; then you got it....we had a major storm here last summer;tornadoes came through and killed so many and the devastation was in the billions..other states sent people to help and we welcomed them with open arms and we are now fully recovered...so see the difference between unions and free people? It is a disgrace..I see people with no power and food and heat..others want to help; but since you only accept the help you WANT the way you WANT it? then the word is out; and that screeching you hear is the tires turning on all the vehicles that COULD have helped you all; and going back home..let Obama fix your mess; oh did you all see; he left..he's out flying on AF 1; with a full belly; and he has power; and you all have Bloomberg;Christie and the Unions....you can't see the difference now; you all never will..

you have people begging for help' for God's sake they're eating out of dumpsters!!

there is rampant looting; burglaries and violence are up; let people come in there and HELP!!!

Sure sounds like a lot of the red tape Obama said he'd cut through. Oh I forgot he exempted his Union Cronies from that along with ObamaCare.

Where is Obama and his administration? If the union wants to hurt the people, business and government then someone needs to stand in and put an end to it. The question facing us is will OBAMA stand up to the union?

A bunch of greedy thugs who have existed way past their usefulness. Our guys just went to help and come home. We can't survive in that cesspool for long, even under normal conditions, that's why we live down here.

All of the above.....Screw the unions and those a** jerks that run them. When we had the Northridge earthquake which was devastating, the public safety, people, and the Nat'l guards stepped in to help.
Water companies like Arrowhead, Sparkletts delivered water, food banks brought food, churches brought blankets and other necessary items.
Californian people know that gov't doesn't respond to aid right away. Funny that even though i live in a State dominated by liberals, somehow we all manage to come together. Those states hit by storm disasters need to take a lesson on how we here in California band together.
Yes we've also have had our share of storm disasters, fire disasters as well, but we still band together in time of need.

Unions are nothing but bullies these days. If I was without electricity and these guys were told not to help get it back, there would be hell to pay. There is too much devastation to the people of NJ to be arguing over nonunion issues. The people of NJ need to demand accountability from whomever is making these rotten decisions.

Yeah. All of a sudden, Unions don't matter. Clean water, plumbing, electricity, shelter, food, gas and so on seems way more important then their Union crap.

They offered to help but the greedy unions want to make every penny they can no matter how long it takes. When the weather turns colder next week and millions still don't have power many will suffer because of union greed.

Our county got fined for using the wrong union to put electric poles up after a tornado. The first responders Obama sent were inspectors and they said the men from the phone company could not help put the poles up and the electric union workers from other states would do the job for us. Well they weren't here and we didn't care and we did it ourselves and paid the fines.

Let the union families sit in the cold and dark, but those who need the help don't deserve this entitlement mentality of the union leaders who decided that the union is more important than providing relief for those who need it.

I heard this crap today on Hannity while in town and could not believe that people who needed the help were actually that ignorant.
I also belong to a union. When the tornado/storm tore up this part of WV in June, we did not mind if others from other states came in to help get our power up and running.
There were wonderful people who came here from Texas and I'm not sure what all states, but they came and helped our people. There were strangers all over our roads and backroads fixing power lines, even up to dark every nite. Many were pulling 16+ hour days I heard.
Our community appreciated everyone who came and helped get our lives back to normal.
I would like to thank all of them.

That's exactly right and many forget "we are Americans first" and think the political end is where they need to stand above all else. They're very wrong.

Same thing happened after Katrina and 9/11 as firefighters and police demanded their union get first dibs on all jobs that needed their help, and NOT hire private non union workers or volunteers that would work for "Free".

The events were tragic and so were the loss of lives, but now were talking about "MONEY" so all compassion is aside!!!!!

More that logic, and more than compassion for fellow humans...................greed is what we humans feel most in times of making more money that has to be spent to repair societies.

You should work for Fox News.. If you read the article and see the video the problem was a logistical matter and they thought it would take too long to resolve so they had the crew turn back.

The truth of this article is in the video, it's plain and simple. Even the guy that's getting grilled says it has nothing to do with union or non-unions, it was simply a misunderstanding, You can spin that anyway you want.

It didn't mention that in the video above. in fact that crew never even got to where they were going because they were turned around when they couldn't figure out what to do about the paperwork. They never even talked to anyone from NJ or NY.

This was purely a logistical blunder.

no; it is not in the video; it was released later on a recording made by a Georgia Crew trying to get to help..threatening them; cursing them; calling them scabs and much worse...

As a retired NJ teacher, I can tell you that Chris Christie is extremely anti-union, so do not blame him for this. His plate is pretty full right now, but I know he would not tolerate this.

The unions are Obama's buddies. If Obama really cared about the people of NJ, he'd let as much help come to NJ as possible, to get the clean-up job done quicker. But if it's union only, that won't happen, and hopefully it'll cost Obama his job, too.
