Only a simple minded uneducated person could make a mistake like that. Neil Armstrong was a true American Hero, may he rest in peace. I have always wondered what his real first words were when he landed on the Moon, you know the ones he said while setting up the camera to film his first step on the Moon

Anybody with any sense knows that if NBC (or CBS or ABC or CNN or MSNBC or any other mainstream media outlet except FOX) says it, that makes it true. Their words and opinions are infallible.

Therefore, if NBC says Neil Armstrong's name was Neil Young, then HIS NAME WAS NEIL YOUNG, not Neil Armstrong, and all of you RWNJ Repug "birthers" out there, who think he was Neil Armstrong, need to wake up and get in the real world!

Liberals are a bunch of uneducated idiots that tell everyone that they are smart. That being said, and being a fact, I remember my great grandmother saying that the moon landing was done in Hollywood. She was in her twenties when the Wright brothers flew their plane.

That was an exciting time in our history. A president set a goal for the nation and we achieved it through hard work. It was not easy. There were sacrifices that had to be made.

Now we have to "hitch a ride with the soviets". What a joke our space program has become ! We derive many benefits of being in space. The private sector will take over now. We already have space ports either being planned or already under construction. As usual the government fumbles the ball.

NBC should have reported on the extensive research and development NASA had to do in order to accommodate Neil Young's guitar on the moon mission.

Digging the Neil Young references. A nice spin on the send-off for the man who literally was the man in the moon. And there was something about Neil ~ Armstrong, that is ~ that was detectably off-center. A former high-ranking NASA official referred to him as 'the recluse's recluse.' He did everything he could after the Moon landing to avoid the limelight.

There's an irony inherent in invoking Neil Young to refer to this man. A noted recluse (see above), he was the farthest thing from an activist, as Neil Young clearly was. Another place where he and Neil differ is politics, of course ~ the first man on the moon was a conservative. Though he could have served as a weighty asset on the side of the GOP, he studiously maintained his distance from the stage of public life.

Whatever anyone's politics ~ his, or anyone else's ~ this man was a very cool individual.

So long and have a safe trip to wherever it is you are headed now, our Man on the Moon. Or, as they say in the movies: Godspeed, Commander Armstrong.

What you did, Neil, was something humans had dreamed of doing for hundreds, if not thousands, of millennia. Thank-you for being heroic at a time when America (& the rest of the world) needed a hero perhaps more than ever.

I'm not surprised by the laziness of the 20 and 30 somethings that permeate the media. It must be really difficult for them to research their subject before writing a story or putting together a news program. It's not like we have google to use for fact finding...

To be fair, the tame turkey is an extremely stupid bird — it may well be the stupidest of all warm-blooded species to the best of my knowledge. It had all its intelligence bred out of it by the turkey farmers who only cared for how big the breast was (so they could sell more turkey breast meat, and bigger-breasted Thanksgiving turkeys).

The modern domesticated turkey can barely walk due to being so overbalanced by its huge breast. It’s so stupid that it can easily starve to death in front of a plate of food.

But domesticated turkeys generally have white feathers, not brown. Wild turkeys are brown.
