I think the troops will be manipulated according to what Obama deems most beneficial to himself and his continuing power grab.

Just like the Brits, the USSR and all others before us who tried to subdue Afghanistan, eventually we will flee with our tail between our legs.

It won't be a determining factor, but could be used as an excuse to either withdraw the troops sooner or postpone the withdrawal. The main factor will be related to the power structure and what those pulling the strings want and can get away with.

I do feel that our soldiers who are risking their lives for this country, honestly do feel that they are creating a positive image and example for those in enemy countries.
On the other hand, I feel those soldiers are risking their lives for nothing. Like I said above, they (enemies) don't want to be like us in our great country. They are of a different culture.
My heart aches and I pray for any of ours over there every day.

The 15 year old book, Escape from America, says that America is a "has been" country. It says that 3 million people want to leave America, if only they knew how, and it's the best and brightest who are leaving. (So why am I still here? Habit?)

If some newcomer was to judge us by our TV commercials, they might get the idea that the U.S. is a very SICK country.

Don't live in "The Matrix." Come out, and see the reality. America may have had a lot to offer in the past, but like a beaten-up and raped unfaithful woman, America appears to be "nearly used up." If you get a chance to read the above book, I would recommend it, as it seemed to speak a lot to what I was already feeling.

Bush wasn't perfect, but he was much better than BO. I don't trust any politician fully, because they all need kept in check; however, BO just bypasses congress and this is wrong. This is why he needs to "hit the road, toad."

I am not so much anti-government, as this corrupt government is anti-people.

More and more people are waking up and suspecting, something is very wrong with our country, and especially with this corrupt government.

We should let them sink that is the way they have treated our Americans that were there to serve and protect. This money that we send overseas to these countries that kill and torture our people certainly tells me something is seriously wrong in paying them while they continue to kill our American. All forces should pull out let them kill each other and let God sort it out.

Who cares about a pack of towel heads that hate us and will always hate us. What are they going to do, invade the U.S. riding camels? Our troops would better serve us by guarding our borders considering that our governments policies have caused us to be hated all over the world.

As someone who participated in the first invasion of Afghanistan in the 1980's, I can tell you that once you start leaving they will be too focused on fighting each other for control of the country to waste bullets on your soldiers. That country is an absolute mess. We did build plenty of roads and bridges and social welfare buildings and everything was constantly undone. They want to live like savages, then let them, your children don't have to pay for their backwardness with their lives.

Anything NATO does jeopardizes American soldiers the UN rules of engagement are beneficial to our enemies only

Either they need to get in there and fight or they all need to get out of there - NOW.

Time to bring them home and let those folks continue to live in the 8th century. BTW, blow up anything we have to leave behind so they aren't used against us in any future military operations.

My condolences on your upcoming separation. I did a year on a remote tour in Korea back in 1993. Leaving my family once for a year personally was a horrible experience. The guys deploying these days are doing it 3, 4 or more times which I think is contributing to the sky-rocketing suicide rate in the US military and the horrendous divorce rates as well.

Less then 20 days ago another solider here where we are stationed at hung himself. It is a tragedy.
