National Rifle Association Doles Out $217,000 in Campaign Cash to New York Politicians Over Past 9 Years?

The prime target: defeating Mayor Bloomberg’s push for microstamping of bullet casings, which backers say would be an effective crimefighting tool.

Since 2003, the NRA has reported giving New York legislators and political committees $217,400 — the organization’s largest outlay over that period.

Arizona candidates received the second-highest cash infusion: $196,317.

Almost half of the donations in New York came in 2010, after the legislative defeat of a microstamping bill, which would have required bullet casings to carry unique markings, campaign records show. Senate Democrats, then in the majority, tried to move the bill, but couldn’t muster the necessary 32 votes.

Does not look good for President Obama does it? My latest issue of "America's 1st Freedom" (the NRA political policy magazine) was largely about how this is the biggest campaign the NRA has ever sponsored; money, and resources. And it is not to support a candidate, but is against a candidate, President Obama.

The amount of votes the NRA (including all owners of firearms), and the Roman Catholic Church (including all people who support religious freedom) are going to furnish to Romney are huge. The Administration is running around crying like a little girl with a skinned knee right now over the Supreme Court and "ObamaCare". Can you imagine the drama as the campaign gets under way for the election in November? Goodness. With Sandra Fluke being a net loss, and the "GOP's War On Women" heading that way, I can only imagine the hair pulling and screaming that the Fall holds for us.

In reality, $217k is a drop in the bucket especially over a 9 year period to combat the multitude of cash flowing to politicians supporting more gun laws.
