Politics is so much fun. Now we get Nancy Pelosi saying that the Republicans are exploiting the Jews. Wow. Eric Cantor is not taking that, but does Pelosi have a point? Mitt Romney comes out with a stronger stance on Israel and raises $1 million from some big Jewish donors. It sounds like Pelosi is just jealous that the Republicans are stealing the typically Democratic Jewish support base. Do you agree with Pelosi that the Jews are being exploited by the Republicans?

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM reports:
WASHINGTON -- In unusually sharp words, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) on Sunday fired back at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for suggesting that Republicans exploit Jewish people for political gain. Pelosi told Bloomberg's Al Hunt in a Friday interview that Republicans have been talking up issues about Israel as "an excuse" to distract from their push for tax cuts for the wealthy.

Nancy is not mistaken, she is flat out !00% WRONG.

The Dems are exploiting the Jews for personal gain. Specifically, the Dems are sacrificing the Jews and Israel for Islamic votes and campaign donations.

The GOP are "exploiting" the Jews... -_-
The GOP are exploiting the Jewish community the same way their exploiting Goldman & Sachs, Bank of American, JPMorgan, and the FED. If Mitt Romney gave me a million dollars to vote for him I wouldn't say he's exploiting me.

    Are Jews exploiting the USA?
I thought Jews controlled the Republican Party since the 70's and they took out Nixon, the last All American Republican????'

I believe the Big Banks, Big Oil, and Media is dominated by Jews, who dominate both political parties, and the USA overall, and even work closely with Saudi Arabia, through the Rockefellers, who managed the 'Arab" Oil Embargo, part of Rockefellers political war against Nixon..

Absurd. A large number of members of the GOP are evangelical Christians, a group that as a whole strongly supports Israel. Romney is reacting to the base's demand that more be done in support of Israel.

Nancy Pelosi is mentally disabled, she can't help herself. She really is insane.

Conservatives have always been strong supporters of Israel. In fact most Democrats have been supportive of Israel until Obama came along and threw them under the bus. But then Obama also threw the Poland under the bush, it seems Obama just keeps getting it wrong.

What is ACTUALLY happening is that for the FIRST time in DECADES the Democrats are UNABLE to exploit the jews..

"if you EVER want to know what a Democrat/Progressive/Liberal is most guilty of or what they're going to do next OR,, what they've been doing in the past but can NO LONGER DO,, it's the easiest thing in the world to find out exactly what that is,,

When is this women going to be removed from Congress.
Isn't her District embarrassed of her enough already?

Why the Jews would ever vote for Dems is beyond me. FDR turned them away when they were trying to escape the purge in WWII leaving 90% of immigration quota unfilled.

Same reason as for why any minority votes for the Dems I guess ~ they have a propaganda machine that would make Goebbels envious.

You're funny. So are you a hippy wanna-be who missed really getting into the 60's by a decade, yet still thinks the Joooozzzzsss s are in control of everything.

My loyalty is to the Constitution, not some Progressive loon who has failed your her oath repeatedly. She supports her Party ~ whether that be Democratic or Socialist (getting closer to same thing).

She ramrods a bill through without even knowing what was in it - How is that representing the People??? She demonizes her opponents instead of trying to compromise with them to do the work of the American People. She work in hyperbole and propaganda.

Real America does not support this caricature of a Politician. She has a 56% unfavorablity rating in June (down from 63% in May) so you are wearing rose-colored glasses. In truth, they laugh at her or gawk in amazement that anyone can be so incredibly inane.

Pelosi: Republican Jews just want to save on taxes

In a pot-stirring interview with Al Hunt, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that Jews who oppose President Obama’s treatment of Israel are faking concern over the Jewish state. The comments are bound to stir anger among pro-Israel advocates. Pelosi argued that “many of the Republicans are using Israel as an excuse, what they really want are tax cuts for the wealthy.” Here is the exchange:

HUNT: One more foreign policy question, though. He’s going to Israel, and your Republican — the Republican majority in the House, one of your counterparts, Eric Cantor, said Republicans have a golden opportunity with the Jewish vote this year because there’s a, quote, “real cloud over Obama’s chilliness with Israel.”

PELOSI: Well, you know what? That’s maybe his characterization, but that, in fact, this president — and hopefully during this campaign, it will become — this president has been a staunch supporter of Israel. Many of the things that he has done, in terms of Israel’s qualitative edge in terms of how we have — have supported Israel in that regard, for them to defend themselves, A, B, is two issues that relate to Iran. Many of the things that he has done, in terms of Israel’s qualitative edge in terms of how we have — have supported Israel in that regard, for them to defend themselves, A, B, is two issues that relate to Iran. No president has done more —
    (CROSSTALK)

HUNT: Do you think he’ll do as well with the Jewish vote this time as he did last time?

PELOSI: The election will tell us that.

    HUNT: What do you think?

PELOSI: But I — I think that he will. I think that he will, because the fact is when the facts get out. You know, as many of the Republicans are using Israel as an excuse, what they really want are tax cuts for the wealthy. So Israel, that can be one reason they put forth.

HUNT: That’s why some of the Republican Jewish supporters are really active.

PELOSI: Well, that’s how they’re being exploited. And they’re smart people. They follow these issues. But they have to know the facts. And the fact is that President Obama has been the strongest person in terms of sanctions on Iran, which is important to Israel. He’s been the strongest person on whether it’s Iron Dome, David’s Sling, any of these weapons systems and initiatives that relate to Israel. He has been there over and over again.

Actually, Obama’s failure to go to Israel since he was trying to shore up support among Jewish voters in 2008 has become a campaign issue. But it is her comment that Republican Jews are concocting complaints about Obama’s Israel policies, which have been criticized at various times by both Democrats and Republicans, to disguise their opposition to higher taxes that will strike many as offensive.

Matt Brooks of the Republican Jewish Coalition reacted to Pelosi’s remarks in an e-mail to Right Turn. He told me: “The one thing I can agree with Nancy Pelosi on is that Jewish Republicans are ‘smart people.’ We’re smart enough to know that when it comes to Israel we can do a lot better then Barack Obama. Obama has publicly called for ‘daylight’ between the US and Israel, called for Israel to return to the indefensible ‘67 lines as a precondition for peace talks, and condemned Israel for building in . . . Jerusalem.” He then took strong exception to Pelosi’s claims of “exploitation”: “So, sadly, while I appreciate Pelosi saying Jewish Republicans are smart, we most certainly are not being “exploited.” Given the facts and I only wish that when it comes to Israel Nancy Pelosi and other defenders of Obama’s failed Israel policies were as smart as us Jewish Republicans.”

On Saturday a Pelosi spokesman tried to walk the statement back, saying, “She’s not saying that members of Congress don’t care about Israel. What she was clearly saying here is that if you as a Republican are going to attack the president’s record while refusing to look at the facts, they’re ignoring what the president has done even in a bipartisan way on this issue.” No apology was offered for saying it was a ruse to keep Bush-era tax breaks.

Th Romney camp refused to comment on the remarks while Mitt Romney is traveling abroad. But once Romney returns to American “soil,” don’t be surprised if this becomes a contretemps. Whatever disagreements exist over Obama’s Israel policies, this is the first time such a prominent Obama surrogate has accused pro-Israel critics of the president of being in it for the money.

No, the "Democrat Party" has just shifted so far to the left that Jewish people are feeling less and less comfortable. You know, Israel is one of our strongest allies, the only democratic country in the middle east, they're such nice people in spite of what they have to put up with. Obama says nobody's suffered more than the Palestinian people. Oh what a lie! Expending so much energy bullying Israel. It's no wonder they're switching over. Plus getting more and more tyrannical at home. Evidently being republican to her is being exploited. What irony. I like what Fef said, now that I've scrolled down. "Democrats" have not just exploited Jewish people, they've exploited blacks, Hispanics, gays, women, and everybody else. Btw, enough obsessing over taxing people. Geez. Maybe they should stop spending so much. Doesn't she get kickbacks from her insider knowledge, earmarks, or something like that.
