Mubarak Is 'Clinically Dead': Should They Pull the Plug on Him?

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was been declared clinically dead. The 84-year-old politician reportedly suffered a stroke Tuesday morning, just a few weeks after receiving a life sentence for the deaths caused last year by Arab Spring protests against his prolonged presidency. Within hours, Mubarak was pronounced clinically dead. He's still on life support, but not likely to recover.

Initially, Reuters was told by the military that they could not use the term "clinically dead" because he was being kept alive. One source described his condition as "completely unconscious ... using artificial respiration." However, it was enough to elicit "cheering and fireworks" in Tahrir Square, USA Today reports. Does it sound like Mubarak can be put to rest, or should doctors keep working on him?

I say No, because that may not be his choice. Now if he had a written will that allowed this to be done, then it would pe O.K. But even if he is clinically dead, there are some cases when doctors have pronounced people clinically dead they have rallied at some later time, and lived. Mubarak's total general health condition should dictate his chances of rallying. In that case, it might be the best thing to do for his own good. I know the people of the revoltion in Egypt want them to pull the plug.

It will run its course. However, they pulled the plug on democracy for Egypt now that the Muslim Brotherhood is in charge. Another piece in the Obama puzzle of destruction.

It's what is done for most human beings, why play morbid political games by keeping him alive. Nothing to be accomplished there. He's an old man, he was tried and found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment, what more can you do to him? It is no longer a matter of meting justice to a tyrant here, it has become more of sinking down to his level and scoring absolutely no positive points. Pull the plug, bury the man and move on. Let history tell the story from there.

Pull the plug. Nothing more can be done or gained by keeping him alive. He is taking up valuable bed space.

His family will do what they feel is right and what they think he might want. No one else should be involved on this sad critical condition.

That's hardly our call to make... let his family decide.

That aside, yeah, if it was me, I'd want them to pull the plug.

No, maybe he can be resurrected and return to power. I'd rather see that then have the Muslim Brotherhood (a Jihadist, Islamist cult) take over.

Who are "they?" The so-called "government" there can't make the decision, since that would amount to executing a death sentence, and it is my understanding that he was not sentenced to death.

If the old criminal has any friends or family left, I guess it's up to them.

Who on here or anywhere else has the right to tell a family to pull the plug? I don't care who is it... this is the epitome of something entirely personal. Why on this earth is this even a question and poll? Again, no one elses right... none. Would you want people talking about you or your family is such a way? No matter who you were?

#Judaism says once a person is on life support and being fed by tube they cannot be removed from the machine. People awaken even when seemingly brain dead. How can we tell if the decision is correct? What religion is he and what does it say with regard to this matter? That q needs to b answered b4 action is taken!
