MSNBC's Keith Olbermann Tells Glenn Beck and 9-12ers 'Go To Hell'

- Even worse, he did the same to members of Beck's 9-12 Project, an organization "designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001" when we were "united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created."... Read full article »

Although federal law restricted political action committees' expenditures to $10,000 per candidate, an organization could spend unlimited amounts of money supporting or opposing a particular candidate as long as their campaign activity was not coordinated with a candidate."

Translation- if you are an independent group (a PAC) you can spend as much money as you want on marketing a candidate or smearing a candidate, and whats better the candidate is not saying it, the PAC group is.

NCPAC Chairman Terry Dolan was quoted as saying, "A group like ours could lie through its teeth, and the candidate it helps stays clean." Dolan later said he was describing a hypothetical situation, not NCPAC's actual tactics.

These are the originators of the mass mailing, mailgram, leaflet, smear campaigns that we are so familiar with today. Men like Bozell have taken this political propaganda to the internet and present it through fake news sites and blogs like this one.

    *********************

According to the MRCs website, "The MRC, headquartered in Alexandria, VA, began modestly with a handful of employees, a black and white TV, and a rented computer...and a $339,000 initial annual budget." "Established in 1987, the MRC has made “media bias” a household term..."

Indeed you have Bozell, indeed you have... and well put.

MRC now has a 10 million dollar budget.

    *****The PTC*****************

Later Bozell founded the Parents Television Council or PTC in 1995, after he felt that decency was declining on prime-time television programming.

"In 2001, the PTC organized a mass advertiser boycott of the professional wrestling television program WWF SmackDown! over claims that the program caused the deaths of young children who they felt were influenced by watching the program only later to be sued by the WWF over claims that the PTC used false statements in their campaign."

The case was settled in WWF's favor. In the opening minutes of the court case, Bozell presented video evidence but was quickly countered by WWF's legal representative Dwayne Johnson, who objected with a Standing Facebuster, Bozell recovered and called a media expert to the stand but Johnson retorted with The Peoples Elbow which seriously weakened Bosell's case. Bosell conceded and had to admit to Johnson and to the Court, that he did indeed, "Smelleth what the Rock Cooketh" and payed out 3.5 million.

Some have suggested, the true goal of PTC is to get more government control over all television, not just kid shows, right wing government control-- a chilling thought.

    **********************

The MRC launched the NewsBusters blog in August of 2005, with the assistance of Matthew Sheffield, of Dialog New Media. Matthew Sheffield was the founder of RatherBiased.com which contributed in bringing down Dan Rather.

    http://elitechoice.org/tag/di...

"In his MSNBC news program Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Olbermann named Bozell the "Worst Person in the World" several times in 2006 and 2007. In response, Bozell posted a press release on the MRC site claiming that Countdown Preaches Hate Speech"

So Bazell spreads lies all over the internet on behalf of his political backers and then when Olbermann calls him on it, Bazell accuses him of hate speech in print.

    **********************

Now the article makes more sense. In addition, Noel lists in his credits, contributions to the prestigious AmericanThinker. These are the people who brought us the mysterious Ed Lasky. Lasky spread lies about Obama during the election race and was exposed for the neoconservative he was, and the lies he was spreading, by the Nation

If you really feel that Olbermann is out of line, then contact advertisers like Busch Beer, or Colgate toothpaste or any of the others who pay so he can pollute the airwaves. Ranting here does no good, but ranting to Disney or Proctor and Gamble or CocaCola DOES get traction if you do it often enough.

You'd be surprised. I have done it before. It takes a little research, but advertisers are notoriously edgy during this time and if they think being on a program will hurt numbers, they will pull spots. I've seen it happen. Last time I contacted advertisers, every single one of them replied and two of them later on pulled advertising. Of course it's not just my email that does it, it's thousands filling the mailbox. It takes a group effort. But it can get results.

I watched the video. Here is the part i liked

"In short, Glenn, 9-12ers, if you are invoking 9/11 just to oppose healthcare reform, go to hell!"

Leave 9/11 alone. It is not your political toy to play with.

You miss the point completely. It could just as easily have been December 8, 1941 or July 20, 1969. They are dates of American unity. They transcend politics. 9-12 was probably chosen because it's most recent and people have short memories or no emotional link to other dates because they weren't born yet. Try visiting their website.

Isn't telling fellow Americans to go to hell a divisive comment? Shouldn't the NFL immediately consider telling NBC it no longer wants Olbermann associated with "Sunday Night Football" broadcasts?

Isn't this FAR worse than anything Rush Limbaugh was falsely accused of?
