MSNBC Likens Romney To The KKK For Saying "Keep America America"

MSNBC daytime anchor Thomas Roberts seizes on Mitt Romney's use of the phrase "Keep America America." The network claims the phrase plays homage to the Ku Klux Klan slogan of "Keep America American." According to left-leaning news outlets, the "Keep America American" expression was apparently used by the KKK in the early 1900s.

Somehow the folks at MSNBC believe Mitt Romney is acknowledging his Klan roots by using a similar phrase in his 2012 campaign for the presidency.

UPDATE: On tonight's edition of MSNBC's "Hardball," host Chris Matthews apologized for the "irresponsible" and "incendiary" attack on Mitt Romney.

UPDATE: Al Sharpton, on his show tonight, gave his seal of approval for MSNBC to apologize. Sharpton says he believes Romney deserved the apology because he has also been a "victim" of half-truths.

It is so nice to have a cable station apologize when they've made a mistake instead of what Fux does. They wouldn't apologize for running over their own mothers if they weren't forced to. MSNBC did the right thing and the Romney quickly replied that they appreciated MSNBC correcting the mistake. Matthews had nothing to do with the comment however he is the one who publicly apologized for the network. Fux is like the Fonz, they choke on the words "I'm sorry."

Name one....When Bill O'Reilly apologizes for the continued lies he tells about the $16 muffins, I will offer an apology...but not until. That's just one FOX Noise lie that they keep telling as true...even after they were proven wrong.

the you-tube video of the FOX news coverage showing the "apology".....was on the radio site's home page....it offered the best feed....and the best brief introductory explanation just above of the "tweet" that FOX was apologizing for commenting on...

O'Reilly is still harping on the $16.00 muffins, even though he has been shown that it's not true. I listen to Ed Schultz on a daily basis and I have heard him apologize on occasion for getting something wrong. If you go back and listen to what Thomas Roberts actually said...he did not say that Romney was associated in any way with the KKK, but that Romney's slogan, "Keep America America" had also been used by the KKK. I equated that statement the same as the Republican Tea Baggers carrying signs showing President Obama as Hitler. Please expalin the difference to me. So far, no one has been able to do that.

Schultz apologized for calling Laura Ingram a "talk slut" and about Perry's edited "black cloud" speech. O'Reilly did not draw a libelous characterization about anyone in his (wrongful) assertion about the muffins, he only criticized government spending. If you can't see the difference, that is too bad. Even Chris Matthews apologized for the remark and if he can say it was over the top then I am not wrong in my analysis. Why apologize if there was nothing wrong in it? Besides, O'Reilly has apologized for some misstatements made on his program.

I have seen the Tea Party signs representing Obama as Hitler and I totally disagree with those more angry partiers in doing so. However, where is the sense of outrage at those who represented President W. in the same way. I saw far, far fewer of those signs at Tea Party rallies as opposed to anti-Bush rallies. and tell me what you think. They were prolific and far worse that the ones directed at Obama. Are you outraged? Were you paying attention to all the vitriol and hatred aimed at Bush? Kill a president? Are they insane? This country is not a South American Junta nation. We have LAWS. I don't like Obama but to kill a president is antithetical to the very meaning of this country's founding principles and its constitutional democratic republic political philosophy. I never saw a sigh at the Tea Party coverage saying "Kill Obama". Never. The news would have been all over it for weeks.

Its getting out of control with the media spreading false information about anything to get ratings... no care for a persons innocence or finding out the truth. Why did it take Chris Matthews to apologize for Thomas Roberts mistake... And really Rev. Al Sharpton to endorse the apology it was a dumb thing to start with... Al should of said that.

Good lord. Mitt Romney was the governor of the 2nd most liberal state in the country. They have even forgotten that fact.
