Mr. Free Stuff Says Black People Just Want Free Stuff and Probably Alot of You Other Slackers Do Too

Samantha 2012/07/12 18:27:59
Why do Romney and other conservatives never mention the "free stuff" given to corporations in the form of tax subsidies? The image is the Romney's horse barn which is, of course, another example of Romney being completely out of touch with working class Americans.

Another WTF moment from the racist arrogant creep that is Mitt Romney, who responded to the NAACP's booing when he said he'd repeal the Affordable Health Care Act by saying - later, to another more friendly crowd and thus not to the faces of the people he was insulting - that they were mad 'cause they want "more free stuff from the government," just like those obnoxious women who want health care and students who want an education, and anyway nothing is really free, except of course the hundreds of millions of unearned dollars he has stashed in off-shore accounts because who wants to pay taxes anyway?

After those ill chosen words about " free stuff", Willard added, “But don’t forget, nothing is really free.” He could have added..." except for the free money I got from the government over the years in the forms of tax breaks, grants, secured loans, etc, which allowed me to maximize my personal wealth, which I now deposit in offshore financial institutions...but for you little people, don't forget, nothing is really free." Members of the lucky sperm club receive massive amounts of taxpayer money. In fact, Willard and his ilk are the largest hogs at the welfare trough. Those swine are the ones getting " free stuff " , roads , bridges , police protection, air traffic control , military protection, etc..... but he doesn't pay squat in taxes for that. That's for the little people who get the failed trickle-down capitalism.

Free stuff. Romney ? You mean like oil, gas, and coal subsidies your buddies in Congress have been handing out, along with tax breaks for billionaires? Free stuff like tax shelters and tax havens oversees?

Takes a lot of nerve to show up at the NAACP and striking a white power pose and calling black people freeloaders.

Thank you for the input; Romney and other conservatives never mention the "free stuff" you outlined in your comments. I wonder why! LOL.

He does mention "free stuff" he was the one that also came up with a healthcare plan that Obama has modeled his after. So why is Mitt flip-flopping now?

The outsourcing of American jobs began long before Obama but, of course, instead of commenting on the fact that Romney personally profited from outsourcing you decide to attack the president. Of course, since conservatives don't have a credible economic plan, your methods are understandable.

You're wrong; there's actually research regarding the ways in which conservatives reject facts, science and reason.

Samantha, have you considered how is it possible for government officals both repub and Demon if you want to be honest about it, give all those tax breaks to the rich guys?

It's the current tax system and what professional politicians milk for all it's worth. Do you believe either party will change it?

There's no doubt both parties accept corporate money; however, I think this is a question about fairness and the president is proposing ending tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, making sure the middle class gets a tax break and raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. A majority of Americans favor the last one.

Meanwhile, conservatives advocate more tax cuts for the wealthy, slashing the social safety net, ending Social Security and Medicare and, in general, demanding sacrifice from the poor and working class while giving more and more to the 1%.

Samantha, I have been watching this fairly constantly on several sources and all I have heard was the GOP proposal to keep the tax cuts for everyone. I'm sure you have heard the estimates that if the wealthy lost their tax breaks, it would only bring in enough money to run the government for 8.5 days.

Not to mention that everyone, even the President in 2009 admitted that you don't raise taxes in a down economy. I hope you will see this effort for what it is, election cycle pandering. We need to be talking about a hell of a lot more than a plan to finance this disaster for 8 days. It is going to take budget CUTS to get us out of the current situation and that is just a fact. Biased attacks from both sides may be entertaining but isn't going to resolve anything.

Bush shouldn't have given the tax breaks to begin with - there wasn't the money for it - now we are in this pickle...I want the break to expire for the richest but I know it won't cover expenses - other measures need to be taken - sew up loopholes, more wall street regulation??? The republicans in congress are so unwilling to come up with solutions that don't take away from the poor, elderly and the middle-class...

Morning, expire for who? The people who already pay most of the taxes now or everyone?
  • Samantha MichaelJ 2012/07/12 20:19:50
    Samantha
The wealthy are already paying lower taxes than they have in decades. At the height of the economic boom in the 1950s, the highest marginal tax rate was about 90%. It stayed that way until Congress lowered it to 72% during the Kennedy Administration. We had another economic boom when Clinton raised the highest marginal rate on the wealthy.

It's a matter of fairness; the concentration of wealth in fewer and fewer hands is a danger to democracy in this country. Cutting the budget, alone, will do nothing in the long term and conservatives only want to cut programs for the poor and middle class while leaving in place programs that aid the wealthy. For one, we should cut 2/3 of the military budget, eliminate tax subsidies for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for corporations to take jobs offshore. Historically, our economy has grown faster when tax rates are high.
