I am white and one of my granddaughters married a black from Jamaica, I also have other Grandchildren that have or are dating blacks. I am OK with that as long as they treat them right.

Yes. I would care. I was raised in South Georgia, so I would be uncomfortable with my white daughter dating an African American. It wouldn't be appropriate to me. That's just the way I am. I don't hate black people or anything. I just don't want them dating my white daughter. Of course, along the same lines, I don't want my daughter dating white trash either. Oh, well, I guess it's a good thing my daughter is a lesbian, huh?

my dad is really racist, but personaly i wouldnt let that bother me i go for what s on the inside rather than the out side, i just think in this day and age it is really ignorant to be that racist ! if you dont like him tell her you dont want him to come to the house not beat her !

I've done it many times. My nephew has a black girlfriend. My little brother has dated outside our race and has had a black girlfriend. My late older brother didn't give a whack what color his boyfriends were.

But this is what puzzles me. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about Texas and will be happy if I never set foot there again, but why would you expect that from Texas? Most Texans I've met are very similar to Oklahomans and I've seen more mixed couples here proportionally than I ever did in SoCal. Especially black women with white men. I rarely saw that in LA.

You obviously don't know much about the UK then cause this is about right. Although it's usually Muslim or Indian families that beat their children for dating whites. And not just beat. It generally results in death. So this chick was pretty lucky. Lucky and stupid cause she's forgiven her parents.
