Gee the "Top Economists" are finally figuring out what the rest of us have known since pResident "It's Not My Fault" has been inaugurated.

Now here is what David Brooks of the New York Times says: "I don't think a president has control over a quarterly economy in any case. But the... the European situation is certainly not his fault. The Chinese slowdown is not his fault. Obama has really very little control and he's a victim of this myth that presidents control the economy quarter to quarter."

If this is true I guess that means 0bama will have to quit blaming Bush. Contrast that to the mythology we got about Obama in 2008. He was the one. He was going to part the seas. Anyone who thought for a moment that 0bama had a chance is a farking idiot.

He is correct. Almost weekly I am seeing businesses close down and storefronts go empty. Some have been empty for 3+ years now. Have you applied for a job lately? I've had three potential jobs fall out from under me as the employer gets back to me and instead of saying they've picked a more qualified applicant they say we've decided we can't really afford to hire at this time. Great economy Obama!

As others have said..."they are just figuring this out"? Virtually zero growth coupled with burgeoning debt = depression. Hell, Bangladesh has a growth rate of 6% for crying out loud!

He's wrong. We aren't in a depression. Sure. We have lots of problems, but we definitely are not having a depression. We're making a mistake spending our way out of debt though. That doesn't work, and it's going to come back to haunt us.
