About as funny as tailing Barack Obama's bus with a pimp-mobile (a 1976 Eldorado with a fuzzy velour top and a "TV an-tenna in the baaaaack") with a sombrero on top to symbolize the voting bloc Obama's whoring himself out to now.

Wonder if Obama can scare up a retarded white kid to set fire to the Capitol this year - nothing too obvious, but a nice homage to the guy he got the idea to ignore Congress from. Can you say "Obitler"?

Obama's just trying to cater to two crucial political blocs at once -- the Chinese who pay his campaign bills and those nice folks from south of the border he's trying to get registered to vote for him. Both of whom like a little "chien au gratin" now and then.

The Romney family are in full compliance with the immigration laws of both Mexico and the United States of America. Obama's target bloc, the people for whom he has unleashed the Federal Department of Justice to prevent states from asking voters for photo ID in this Presidential Election, are those people who are not here legally. The vast preponderance of illegal aliens in the US came here from Mexico.

    Any other idiotic questions?

And just stayed 800,000 more from deportation, plus given them their green cards, effectively. 800,000 Americans can whistle for jobs. Great call, Barack, not to mention a blatant violation of Federal law. But Obama has decided we don't need a Congress to make laws - HE'S the lawmaker now.

800,000 that are all prime candidates to be highly productive members of American society. They must have clean criminal records, be high school graduates or have served in the military, and must submit work-permit paperwork every two years.

As for who decided that "we don't need Congress to make laws", that would be the current, intransigent GOP that has made reasonable governance an impossibility. Their shameful, machiavellian political strategies have forced all others to find any back door methods possible to actually enact constructive policy.

Wrong. You're hand-waving your way around the truth - that Barack Obama can't deal with his political opposition, he can't tolerate opposing views, and now he's chosen to violate the law of the land. The next logical step for Obama is a nice Reichstag Fire. Of course, the logical step for Congress would be impeaching Obama and Eric Holder for violation of their oaths of office.

Well let's see - there's the gleeful announcement from GOP leaders that their priority #1 during a devastating recession was not to help improve conditions for the American people, but rather to "make Obama a one term President". That has of course been followed by a record breaking invocation of filibusters by Republicans to block legislation that often originated with Republicans, but was suddenly vehemently opposed simply because it was being reintroduced by Obama. The logical conclusion to this (coupled with numerous other factors) is that the GOP is intentionally applying a strategy of Machiavellian intransigence in a desperate effort to deny Obama anything that could be construed as political success so that they have a better chance at achieving their priority #1. Pretty straightforward logic really. But you just go ahead and stick to your dogmatic rhetoric. There are plenty of right wing extremists here on Sodahead that are surely popping tiny little chubbies just by reading your ridiculous comments about Obama's supposed "contempt for the rule of law", so why stop now, right?

"800,000 that are all prime candidates to be highly productive members of American society. I don't know about you, but I know of at least 5 "prime candidates to be highly productive members of our American society" that are either unemployed or underemployed right now. Sorry... but as far as I'm concerned, legitimate legal American citizens should come before any illegal in this nation.

You raise a valid point, however the unemployment situation we're currently facing will most likely not be permanent. Additionally, there is the option of creating new small (or even large) businesses rather than simply taking jobs away from Americans, and a substantial percentage of immigrants do just that. We're talking about 800,000 potential new job creators.

Illegals come here to improve their economic situation. Declining Illegal Immigration is a clear indication of the schitty economy under barack's tutelage.

You're very obedient in regurgitating your talking points, however reality indicates otherwise. If you recall, the economy crashed prior to Obama taking office or even winning the election, as a result of decades of poor choices and irresponsible behavior on the part of both our government and our nation's finanical institutions. Since Obama took office however, we've seen across the board economic improvements, albeit slower than most everyone would like.

That being said, you are correct that one factor in declining illegal immigration is the current economic situation. But there are two other commonly raised factors as well.

One is that under Obama, deportation of illegals has been at a record-breaking high. His first year in office set the record at 365,195. And last year, that record was broken with 396,906 deportations. Contrast that with 2001, when only 189,026 illegals were sent home. So that's a deterrent. http://www.newsobserver.com/2...

The other commonly raised factor is Mexican drug cartels. Hundreds of Mexicans - a significant portion of whom were migrants on their way to illegally cross the border to the US - were killed by cartels over the past few years. http://articles.latimes.com/2...

''Since Obama took office however, we've seen across the board economic improvements''
The lion share of the ''improvements'' have taken place in Texas and other Conservative led States. Texas alone was responsible for 1/5 th of all jobs Created in the entire country last month. And barack has fought us every step of the way.
One million of new jobs since 0webama ''saved the economy'' have come from oil and gas production. That is in spite of barack's efforts to end Oil and gas production and exploration.

''One is that under Obama, deportation of illegals has been at a record''
You're very obedient in regurgitating the left's talking points.

So then you agree that we've seen economic improvements since Obama took office, which was my point. Your earlier statement that we've been experiencing a "schitty economy under barack's tutelage" gave the opposite impression.

What I'm obedient in regurgitating is objective reality. The deportation numbers I cited (as well as the drug cartels info) are an example of just that.

Really? Not for any of them? Generally, sweeping statements such as yours are indicative of an inability to take an objective view of things. What "stats" specifically "back you up on this"?

And again, yes, our economy is one factor in the drop-off in illegal immigration. And no, drug cartels didn't previously slow the flow of illegals, because prior to the last few years, they weren't murdering hundreds of Mexicans as they traveled through northern Mexico on their way to cross the border. But now that they HAVE been murderng hundreds, of course it's begun to have an effect. And don't forget the record rates of deportation.....

    Stats:
*Employment participation rate at 30 year low.
*Record unemployment not seen since Carter years.
*Were it not for the lowest Employment participation rate in 30 years, the unemployment rate would be 11%
    *record numbers of welfare recipients
*Record number of weeks to find employment

Perhaps you are right about the fear of Drug Cartels,

You seem to be changing your entire argument. Earlier you claimed you had stats supporting your assertion that Obama couldn't take credit for any economic improvements. Now you're simply ignoring the economic improvements of the past few years and are instead citing remaining problems. Get back to me when you decide what it is you're trying to argue.

You seem to be having trouble defending barack's record.

Barack's stimulus package did little to nothing to improve the economy and jobs picture.
More recently, barack's done absolutely nothing and we HAVE seen some improvements. Well....we did for a little while earlier in the year.

My argument is that the improvements in the US economy as a whole are due to the States run by conservatives. Read the headlines to get a clue.
Wisconsin was loosing jobs and industry, had a deficit it couldn't meet and Walker turned it all around. Texas again is the most friendly state for business, that means JOBS. Louisiana ''Most improved for Business''.
All we hear of california is the cities filling for bankruptcy and people of means fleeing the state.
