There are a few other potential picks -- like Mike Huckabee or Sarah Palin -- for Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential running mate, but the Republican candidate will most likely pick one of the names listed below. Who do you think Romney will choose as his running mate?

NYDAILYNEWS.COM reports:
Kicking the vice presidential sweepstakes into overdrive, Mitt Romney Tuesday announced his running mate’s staff — but is still debating when to unveil his actual choice for No. 2 on the GOP ticket. Sources close to the Romney campaign told the Daily News the working plan has been to announce the pick after the Olympic Games, which begin next week and conclude Aug. 12 — two weeks before the Republican convention in Tampa.

I don't waste my time with the "Dynamic Duo" candidates...I'm voting for CURES for what ails us, not the folks that simply hand out bandaids and aspirin... When you are in the business of temporary fixes, bandaids and promises, it's not in your best interest to actually allow someone to heal the sick patient.

Jobs grew at a faster pace under Gov. Johnson than under ANY OTHER former governor who ran for POTUS this year --- FIVE TIMES FASTER than did job growth under Gov. Romney in Massachusetts...

And Johnson is actually much closer to the mainstream of American voters than he is to the fringes.

Poll after poll show growing numbers of Americans are socially liberal and fiscally conservative. “I don’t think either major party embraces those values,” says Johnson. “I’m running in the same political category as most people in this country.”

You do know the "Dynamic Duo" will shut him out of any presidential debate they hold.

    Lets try this scenario:

Paul wins the nomination, asks Gary Johnson to be his VP, would they win?

Doggy: "You do know the "Dynamic Duo" will shut him out of any presidential debate they hold."

Of course they will shut him out. The last thing the Republicrats want is another "Ross Perot" spoiling their "Debate" Info-mercial. As I've said over and over, when you are in the business of handing out bandaids and aspirin, the LAST thing you want is to have someone that actually can CURE THE DISEASE!

When Chile had an earthquake 80x more powerful than the one in Haiti, no one demanded we go down and help them. That's because Chilean citizens have one of the highest savings rates of anywhere on the planet. When the citizens own their own social security (SS) accounts, and citizen can inherit their parents and grandparents lifetime of contributions and compounding, the wealth transfer enables all kinds of macro-economic benefits.

People can fund their own kids education.

People can pay off their mortgages.

People can buy that Subway or (fill in the blank) franchise or open their own business or invest it or whatever they want. But they would have the assets to solve problems when it arises.

Chile went from 40+% poverty to less than 5% poverty within two generations of their private ownership SS system. The first new system beneficiary under the "ownership" system was a ...<

Chile went from 40+% poverty to less than 5% poverty within two generations of their private ownership SS system. The first new system beneficiary under the "ownership" system was a retired secretary in Santiago, who never earned more than $24k/yr in her life. But she had over $900,000 in her SS account which paid her over 5% interest each year. So this lady that raised 3 kids on <$24k/year retires on $45k per year... and never touches her principal. Guess what? She can become a benefactor for her church, for her kids and for her community. When she dies, her estate going to her children would permit them to pay off their home mortgage or fund thier own kid's college, or buy investments or open a business and hire people.

Think about the macro-economic benefits of privately owned SSTF accounts that becomes part of your estate instead of part of the Government as is does here in the U.S.

Herman Cain and Gary Johnson are problem SOLVERS while Obama and Romney are problem OPPORTUNISTS.

Don't let a good 'crisis' go to waste! Because if people were allowed to solve their own problems, we wouldn't need such a large omnipotent Federal Gov't.

Doggy, what have you read about Cain and his "connection with the Fed? Did you read how he tried to change their policies? Did you read about his attempts to change it from within and became frustrated with their policies and proceedures that were edicts from Congress? Why after just 18 months of unsuccessfuly attempting to reform that entity did he quit and begin advocating changes via congress & the executive branch?

Yeah, what SPECIFICALLY have you read about Cain and dealings with the Federal Reserve that causes you to distrust him?

    Thanks AV

Citation please. I just love it when I can see the entire context of the statement.

Please take a moment and read Cain's bio on his entire term with the FedResv and his stated frustration with that entity that promulgated his exit from there after just 32 months of trying to fix/change that institution from within. Otherwise, I need to see your citation and context that would support your statement. Thanks! AV

Thanks Doggy for providing the evidence to support your statement. You are an honorable person (even if your breath DOES smell like "Kibbles N Bits").

Not that it matters now that Cain is no longer a contender, but I still think you should read his book where he documents his term on the FedResv of KC, documents his climb to the top becoming KC's chairman for 18 months and his stated frustration with that entity that promulgated his exit from there after just total 32 months being associated with the F.RofKC while trying to fix/change that institution from within.

I was listening to Cain that day when he was filling in for Neal Boortz, (I'm a big Neal Boortz fan) and Cain's COMPLETE statement was that he had worked to make changes from within the institution and that it did not require a NEW Presidential committee to provide oversight.

Subsequently, as you pointed out, Cain reviewed the comments and position of Dr. Paul and saw the need for an audit. But then some say that flip-flopping while others say that's a good CEO/manager that can adapt to a changing situation when more information becomes available and more evidence is presented.

Yes, I know about Gary Johnson. I prefer Paul, but at least Johnson is on the ballot in every State, thus the reason I have considered voting for Johnson. My only other choice is to write in Pauls name as a protest statement.

Were you aware that under the Social Security Act all citizens in the country were written off as collateral to the debt of the US to the private banks? The US government declared bankruptcy in 1933, at which time they use us the people as collateral, literally making us slaves.

You can always find the union liberal by listening for the phrase: "It's not my job to ("fill in the blank"). Unless you were a professor at Hillsdale College, your "private" universities have their hand in the gov't till just as much as the so called public schools.

As far as me being the one who wants “to redistribute the wealth ,all into the hands of the 1%”, the only way I advocate any such redistribution is through voluntary capitalist interaction, where a reasonably informed buyer chooses to trade with a reasonably informed seller.

You, on the other hand, advocate government force and coercion. Government always chooses the side of mandates and force because our political leadership, just like you and your collegiate ilk, are “smarter” than those of us that actually earned that income and voluntarily choose with whom we choose to trade the fruits of our labor for the goods and services provided by our fellow capitalists. You, on the other hand, advocate government force and coercion. There aren’t many pictures or cartoons in it, but please read "The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas Stanley & Bill Danko. This book has been one of my favorite gifts to high school graduates entering college since it was published in the mid 1990s. Take a look, if you are not afraid of bursting your preconceived notion as to who really does comprise those millionaires that the left says never created the businesses and jobs. This is a book that describes my husband and me where with $3000 of credit card debt, we started an auto parts delivery service out of our garage at home. While he was at sea, doing his duty as a Navy officer, I was home running the family business and raising our child. We grew that garage delivery service into four free standing stores in two towns, grossing over $12m/year amount the four stores. We created jobs for almost 500 people during our 20+ years in business, jobs for PhDs and high school drop-outs alike!

The business owners described in Stanley & Danko’s award winning books are the very people that sweated blood and tears every day, 24/7, while college professors typically enjoy their nice tenured gigs at some high brow university as they reap their guarantee of lifetime non-achievement awards... while those of us that actually own and operate our businesses, those of us that risked our mortgages, our skills, knowledge, abilities and labor to run the business we created while babysitting whatever the maximum number of employees our CPAs and Tax advisors told us we should have that would maximize our profit margins while limiting the impact of the government's cradle to grave mandates laid at the feet of small business employers.

BTW Professor Joey, if you ever actually DO need a “dipstick”, I can get you one at 10% over cost.
