There are a few other potential picks -- like Mike Huckabee or Sarah Palin -- for Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential running mate, but the Republican candidate will most likely pick one of the names listed below. Who do you think Romney will choose as his running mate?

NYDAILYNEWS.COM reports:
Kicking the vice presidential sweepstakes into overdrive, Mitt Romney Tuesday announced his running mate’s staff — but is still debating when to unveil his actual choice for No. 2 on the GOP ticket. Sources close to the Romney campaign told the Daily News the working plan has been to announce the pick after the Olympic Games, which begin next week and conclude Aug. 12 — two weeks before the Republican convention in Tampa.

How did you miss the obvious choice? Romney has known it will be Marco Rubio for 6 months now.

I think it will be Pawlenty.

However, I think Rubio and Rice would be better picks.

I think Romney is almost as dumb as Palin. but even he knows he could never win with her as his running mate. At least I think he might be that smart. Maybe his magic underwear can help him decide.

Im sure you know the old saying " birds of a feather flock together " Sure Palin is as dumb as a rock and the cons love her . Do you see what im getting at ? Get someone to smart and it scares the average conservative off .

I am still trying to figure out when stupidity became a quality in a person that conservatives like to see in their President. I like my President to be smarter than me and most other people. But to conservatives ignorance is bliss... that is the only way they keep their base... they are ignorant.

LOL. You DO realize that not only was Sarah Palin the main reason that McCain lost the 2008 election, but also the McCain campaign, who actually saw what you and I can't - Mitt Romney's tax returns - reviewed them and decided that Palin was a better candidate than Mitt.

Well of course I realize that back then but that was then and this is now . Back then America wanted to see and be part of the first black man in the house so it wasn't the only reason . I think Americans today would partake in putting the first woman in . face it , not many typical Americans are politically wise but only whats cool at the time . You all have to remember that Palin has had lots of experience fooling the people then she had back in the day .

If the Republicans want to choose a female candidate because she's qualified - like Condoleezza Rice who, in spite of the fact that she is a war criminal does have the background and education to perform adequately in the big chair - that's all well and good. But if they try to go down the same "all the people who supported Hillary will abandon their principles just because there's someone with a vagina on the ticket" road they will simply fail all over again.

Yeah , I guess it would look like a cheap shot again , but then the conservatives don't care they didn't last time . They would turn it into talking point get all kinds of publicity. Maybe Rice could pull off what Palin couldn't and get some of the woman and minority vote .

I don't know . I'm just trying to come up with something for the poor devils because they have Romney .

With the growing sense of the American public that Romney's desperate attempt to keep his financial history a deep dark secret (even though he's running on a campaign of "elect me because I'm a successful businessman") is because he really DOES have something to hide, I would not be shocked if the Republicans decide to dump him before the convention and see if they can come up with anyone else.

Sadly, there is some basis to your comments. The Republican Party learned decades ago that the only way they can win a Presidential election is by suppressing as many votes as possible and then manipulating the votes that do manage to be cast. They have not legitimately won a Presidential election since 1988, and before that the last legitimate election they won was in 1956. Every election comes down to a battle between the wishes of the American people and the wishes of the Koch Brothers, and thanks to the Supreme Court's Citizens United monstrosity, I fear the Republicans now hold the upper hand.

Yes I'm thinking the same they are gaining in momentum but they have been working on it for the last 4 years and thats all they have been working on . Is it any wonder we are in the shape we are ? Like children stomping their feet until they get their way and going to pull their guns out if they don't , thats the way they make it look to me anyway . I have my problems with the liberals as well but mainly blame free trade as our downfall ..

My actual choice is None of the Above, but that was not an option. :( I think it will be a shocker, an out of the blue name and that will catapult Romney into the Belly of the Beast.

Course that could be wishful thinking too. :D wishful thinking
