There are a few other potential picks -- like Mike Huckabee or Sarah Palin -- for Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential running mate, but the Republican candidate will most likely pick one of the names listed below. Who do you think Romney will choose as his running mate?

NYDAILYNEWS.COM reports:
Kicking the vice presidential sweepstakes into overdrive, Mitt Romney Tuesday announced his running mate’s staff — but is still debating when to unveil his actual choice for No. 2 on the GOP ticket. Sources close to the Romney campaign told the Daily News the working plan has been to announce the pick after the Olympic Games, which begin next week and conclude Aug. 12 — two weeks before the Republican convention in Tampa.

She kept most of the Republicans from staying home, giving McCain 46% in a rotten year for the party. I think, on balance, she helped McCain. Having said that, she had her chance. Romney will not choose her. First of all, it would be too much of a distraction. He needs a running mate who is fresh and new.

You're entitled to your opinion. Go ahead and vote for four more years of President Obama. I think Mitt Romney's smart enough to know not to pick anyone outlandish for VP. Most of the names floating about now are very serious, credible people.

none of whom will help him win.

the best he can hope for that they won't HURT him like SP did to McCain.

Obamas Debt This is the fact that will decide!

Uh, no. He did raise our debt (due mainly to emergency measures to prevent the world economy from ceasing to exist entirely thanks to what we now know that the banks were doing), but not by anywhere even remotely near six trillion.

Fiscal Year 2009’s budget was Bush’s, not Obama’s. It was passed before Obama was even elected, let alone inaugurated.

Your side’s charts such as this one deliberately mis-color that huge 2009 bar to falsely attribute it to Obama, knowing that most people think that anything in 2009 must be his (they don’t know what “Fiscal Year” means [hint: when will the 2013 seasons of new and existing TV series of the major TV networks begin broadcasting? January 2013, or September 2012?]):

If Mitt Romney picks Allen West as his running mate, he will be the next President of the United States.

No, not really West only excites a very small minority of the Republican Party, and Mitt is going to have to try to get the moderate vote if he's going to even stand a chance against Obama.

Well, that is debatable. Romney has been seen as a moderate in the past. Choosing someone seen as more liberal than he would anger some on the right. He needs a conservative who is also not a threat to independents. Not an easy task.

You don’t get it. The right-wingers are in the bag, no matter what. The GOP doesn’t need to kow-tow to them. They’re not going to vote for Obama, even if the Voice of God was heard nationwide commanding all Christians to vote for Obama, and footage of Romney worshiping Satan surfaced (okay, maybe then, but certainly nothing less than that would suffice).

It’s the moderates and independents in the Swing States that Romney needs to woo if he wants a chance.
