Ah the PAULS have a dear place in my heart I wrote in Ron Paul in 2008. I love that this family sticks together on important principals. The constitution is the only way! Any man or woman born in the United States would agree with out the Constitution our county would cease to be the Land of the FREE and the home of the brave... God Bless America !

It would be nothing more than Romney trying to bring the Ron Paul supporters into his camp, figuring we'll all abandon our principles simply because a Paul is part of the ticket.

I wouldn't vote for Romney is RON Paul was the VP nominee. Ron Paul for PRESIDENT is the only ticket the GOP can put forward that will get my vote.

For one, Mittens isn't the Nominee yet. For two, it would simply be a desperate attempt by the GOP and the Romney campaign to give him an inkling of credibility as a legitimate GOP candidate. He will not beat BO in a general, which is most likely the party of one's reason for supporting this fraud. It will be a repeat of the McCain loss.

Rand Paul is a man of principle, Romney has none. I doubt seriously that Rand would accept if asked.

Because Romney is a globalist and Rand is not. I don't want to see Rand Paul anywhere near that psychopath.

I'd rather have his father as President. In the grand scheme of things I think it irrelivant because I really dont think Romney has a snowballs chance of winning against Obama, which is pathetic considering how awful Obama is.

Randal Paul would be a good choice from my stand point but it would not likely net Romney many additional votes. It would however stop Dad from running as a 3rd Party Candidate.

Better some Paul than none... I would just hope Rand influenced positive changes and begins a legacy of reform instead of being NWO globalist scum. I'm not sure how that has to happen but if it is to team up with powerhouse Mitt than so be it I guess... --Ron Paul 2012--

I did too. But have since learned that Ron Paul is much too soft on DOMEST national defense when it comes to illegal aliens and Islamic encroachment. But Rand seems to be a lot stronger on those issues.

As I see it, Ron Paul is the only one who is NOT soft on DOMESTIC national defense. He's been trying to define it and put it back on the table his whole career. Ron Paul, e.g., constantly tries to explain the causes of these problems, and the errors in foreign and domestic policies that lead to these problems. And he constantly calls for troops to guard our own dang borders, which would also go to illegal entry. Meanwhile, Obama, like his predecessors, PULLS troops from our borders and sends them to guard/define foreign borders; and, out of ignorance or indifference or worse, every one of these other candidates and most of Congress and a huge population goes along with fatally erroneous policies that put our country in more and more danger of losing everything-- freedom, sovereignty, prosperity, domestic tranquility, and life...God Bless America.

I agree, but unfortunately it has been my observation that a huge portion of Congress and US born citizens actually believe our Constitution is obsolete! It has never even been given a fair chance to work before someone comes in to destroy it; and these same ppl, my whole life, continue to misunderstand the reason and necessity of both individual and states' rights, and stand by as our entire system of government as defined by the Constitution is steadily, systematically dismantled. It's a Free Republic, IF we can keep it! I feel it slipping away...But the ideal will not die; even if it dies here in this geographical location of USA, our Constitutional ideal of LIBERTY and EQUAL Justice for All has grown deep, worldwide roots within the hearts and minds of ppl everywhere, and it will live on...somewhere. God Bless America!

You could be right. But politics is politics, and necessity may force Romney to do it in order to prevent his dada from helping Obama to a 2nd term. Rand is a lot stronger than his father on illegal aliens at least.

BUT Rand can not deliver the south and that's romney's Achilles's heel... besides when a paul SAYS things they sound good BUT then you look at their list of ACCOMPLISHMENTS and the scales don't balence
  • tncdel Ballade... 2012/05/30 20:10:08

That's why I'm still hoping he picks Allen West. Not only is West from Georgia and now in Florida, but also he would siphon away a couple million of the 12 million black votes Obama will otherwise get if he picks Rand Paul or any other white VP candidate.

So Romney has to "guesstimate" whether the number of votes he will stop Ron Paul supporters from writing in for him by picking Rand as his VP will be more than the votes West would bring in from the South, black voters and the military. It's a tough call logistically.

Mitt Romney is going to have to be very careful from where he pulls the candidate for Vice President, very careful. People in the Senate, and in the House are best left alone, as he is going to need every single one of them if he is elected. I very much like Rand, and it would be fine by me if he was second on the ticket, but he is a Senator, a very good one, and that is the problem. There are plenty of people out there Romney could choose that would not leave the Republicans with a vacated seat.

Always a consideration when you are pulling someone out of the Senate, the House, or even at a state level.

It would sadden me deeply that he went against his principles as one who is against the status quo. I understand it could be to better position himself for a run for the presidency in 2016 but I think it will hurt him.

Of course not. I wrote in for Ron Paul in 2008. But inadvertently helped BO get elected. And since then have learnt that Ron Paul is much too soft on DOMESTIC national defense versus illegal aliens and Islam.

Now that Romney officially has the GOP nomination, your question is a moot point.
Hope you and other Ron Paul supporters won't help BO to a 2nd term by writing in for Rand's dad for president.
