There are two places you absolutely do not want to misspell words -- tattoos and signs. The latter is especially discouraged when said sign is outside of a place of education, and the misspelled word is "school." Although, it might be encouraging to students who are struggling with spelling. You don't have be able to spell "school" to get a job, after all.
According to the New York Post, a school crossing was misspelled after some electrical construction was done underneath and the asphalt had to be refilled -- in July, 2010. That's right, it stayed in place for more than a year and a half. Con Edison of New York claims a contractor did it, but little else is known.

Or the city lost it's unions & everyone makes minimum wage $6 after taxes.
You get what you pay for!
Or the city got rid of the public schools & no one in the town makes enough money to go to private!
“Great googly-moogly.”
“Not going anywhere for awhile?”
And the person who did the Wicked Wok sign did it wrong. The last word should be “PREASE.” ;-)
