Mike Bloomberg's Nanny-State Tackles Breast Feeding; Mayor Plans To Hide Baby Formula. Is this going too far?

Now he's playing God. That should be up to the mother and/or anyone she wants information from. He is way too stupid to be human.

Mike Bloomberg has obviously never been a single mom who may just have to go back to work 6 weeks after her baby is born. Formula has been a lifesaver for these women, so literally forcing a woman to use a breast pump, store milk, etc. is an incredible inconvenience. The entire point of the WIC program was to offer baby formula to low-income moms (who probably have time to breast feed but choose not to) - so why not just cut off funding for formula through that subsidy? Talk about a war on women AND on a woman's right to choose!

It is one thing to ENCOURAGE women to breast feed BUT quite another to FORCE them to do so by refusing to supply them with formula at the hospital (when the baby needs nourishment asap) by LOCKING up the formula and treating formula as a drug~~As a native of NYC ~ I have to say that this mayor is completely outa control and I can't wait till we are rid of his a$$~~

How about women with breast implants or reductions that can't breast feed. How about women that just don't want to put their body through that come on Michael if we give you some hormones you can wet nurse.

Add this to the long list of things this village idiot has meddled with in the last year either he's starved for attention or he has a serious mental problem. Either way nobody but his band of inner acolytes listen to him anyway he's extremely ignorable like a gnat at a picnic.

In spite of the many benefits attributed to breast feeding, there are many mothers out there who for various reasons are not able to successfully feed their children that way. Why should they and their children be punished?

Bloomberg and his socialist cronies need to stay out of our lives.

Mr. Bloomberg hit a home run on this one... Studies have overwhelmingly shown that Baby Formula creates stupid deficient children, stupid deficient children make stupid deficient adults, and the big problem with the world is that there are too many stupid deficient people that fill the world and that allows them to do stupid things... thus if every child was breastfed they would be given the best opportunity to reach their acme of biological success and we as a society could improve a few percentage points in IQ .

Scoff all you want~ but "boys" don't seem to want to let go of that breast LOL~My sis in law breast fed her son till he was FIVE~~ he would walk up to her and ask for a SNACK ~~ I was just going with her bro at the time and I couldn't believe what I was seeing ~So it wouldn't surprise me if you did it too ;-) I decided then and there that I wouldn't breast feed ~~ made me wonder about all that "bonding" stuff LOL

My children are all very smart, never did breast feed! Two have masters, and the other two are doing very well! No one has the right to tell a woman she has to breast feed, apparently you are not a woman!

Perhaps your Children would have been even smarter if they were fed an initial diet of nutritionally complete breast milk instead of the poorly fortified coffeemate alternative?... And, as for the issue of chromosomes... So what?... Women are compelled to allow their children to receive radioactive mercury and bromide contaminated vaccines, and then compulsorily forced to send their children off to deficient public schools which offer an inferior curricula and deficient safety conditions, and then sometimes throughout our brief history are forced to allow their young to enter into military service only to watch their caring efforts destroyed... What is the difference?

Yeah, I guess was not loved enough at some point or another in my early adult life... it could have been the military... and I think that I deeply resent the idea of a none Dairy infant formula... Come on, admit that Goat milk would be better than the fortified Coffemate alternative...

Powdered goat milk? I would drink that....but I bet this is soy, and 99% of the soy is GMO, not to mention that it carries a large dose of progesterone... which some toxicologists warn act as a vehicle for other contaminants

Just like a stray cat or dog, if you are going to feed it you may as well love it as if they are your own... Currently, I use surrogate nursing, you should see the look on their faces when I tell them not to use a nursing blanket because I am allergic to fabric softener.

I think this man got hit on the head and lost part of his brain recently. Every time he opens his mouth something stupid comes out. When I had my children I had no interest in breast feeding. Yes, I was a very good mother and I raised two fine men, but the inconvenience of breast feeding held no attraction for me. Who does he think he is telling us what we must do?
