For SOME people without it is a choice. For others it is not a choice. Anybody who believes it is a choice for ALL uninsured is living in fantasyland.

it is a choice, If you can buy smokes , beer, go out to eat you can buy your own Health care, and stop breaking the backs of those people who are willing to work and not sit on their ass and complain i want what they have for free.

What if one can't afford it? Buying groceries is just ONE example of being a priority over health insurance. Why isn't there universal health coverage here in the US for Americans ONLY? We CAN afford it.Illegals get free coverage when they are sick with OUR taxes.Why don't Americans get it since THEY pay for it? The illegals & those who choose to not become citizens but are here legally can either do without or keep the private insurance companies in business.

Having a lack of income so at not to be able to afford insurance, having to choose between rent / food and insurance is no choice at all.

It is a choice... If my wife and I had been able to keep the money spent on health insurance since we started working, after expenses, including 2 kids. we would have saved an extra $172,000 in the last 25 years. I could have that collecting interest and be able to just buy catastrophe insurance and be so far ahead of the game. I wish our employers would have given us the money instead of the insurance...

If there's any choice about having health insurance, it's that of choosing to have health insurance or choosing to eat and have shelter over your head. That is no choice at all. Many of those who don't have insurance simply can't afford it. No one would choose to be ill and not be able to have medical treatment. If they do, they still need some kind of mental health intervention.

I didn't ask them to pay they just did it, and I told them once I turned 18 I didn't need their charity.

You know charity is better than socialism, because those who give charity are choosing to do so. Were as socialism you pay whether you like it or not.

Actually, many of the uninsured are choosing it. The most populace group, according to politico and fact check, of uninsured are those around 18-30 who choose not to. Perfect example is my college campus, where insurance is free if you don't have any. All you have to do is go and sign up. Takes about 10 minutes. Most students still don't have insurance, and yet 95% of the campus knows about it. Most people choose not to have insurance.

I am happy for her that she is rich and can afford good insurance. I am happy for her to ignore that insurance is to expensive for some people to have. Yes, there are "some" people who choose to not have insurance but most do not have it because they "truly" can not afford it or their pre existing conditions keep them from getting it.
