Mexico City lawmakers on Monday made the city the first in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage, a change that will give homosexual couples more rights! The bill calls for changing the definition of marriage in the city's civil code. Marriage is currently defined as the union of a man and a woman. The new definition will be "the free uniting of two people."
This will allow same-sex couples to adopt children, apply for bank loans together, inherit wealth and be included in the insurance policies of their spouse, rights they were denied under civil unions allowed in the city.
This a great sign of progression for Latin American despite the dominating Roman Catholic Church! Why is so much of the US still so unwilling to be progressive?

All I have to say is:
Christians - Albert Einstein said "Science without religion is ignorant. Religion without science is blind." The Bible doesn't tell u how to live your life because it is not the words of god upon this earth. Why? Because the book has been written and ALTERED by humans. Throughout the 14th to 17th Centuries the Bible has gone through so many alterations in order to fit the needs of the ones in power at the moment. It was their way to control and manipulate the simpleminded society. You can't wholeheartedly believe the Bible without question it because it has not been personally given to you by god. It has been written, altered and then printed by humans. One thing for sure is God gave you a brain, use it. Rely on your instincts, use your logic but most of all be the best you can, love the best you can without question. God created us all equally, we were ALL created in his image. If he can love all equally why can't or shouldn't you.

By showing off your hate towards a certain group like that how r you better then the ones you hate? You r doing the same thing, targeting certain groups that don't share your point of view. If you can accept homosexuality why can't u accept all people? Be better then this. Personaly I'm neither in favour nor against homosexuality because I don't treat them as a seperate group. They r part of our society just like me and eveyone of you who reads that friggin long msg. If a person is mean and selfish and selfcentered why would it matter if he/she are homosexual/christian/atheist/... They r still a bad person and all I have for that person is pity and a hand they can take if they r willing to change. If a person is loving and good and awear then they r a good person no matter what. If they wish to b good and do good to others then even if they slip sometimes even if they make mistakes the fact that they want to be good makes them good.
I can only shake my head on both of those groups. Neither is better then the other because the hate streams from both equally. I have only pity for you and sadness for the children I may have in the future. I sometimes fear for them because they will be born into a world where people can only hate. Love each other like god loves you, unconditionally, despite all.
When Adam and Eve were banished from heaven god didn't turn his back on them. His love was still evident to them. He was as a parent is when their child slips and makes a mistake.
When Cain let his jelousy and bitterness overwhelm him god was saddened by what he did but he didn't love him any less, again as a parent would. He was angry and dissapointed and Cain was commanded to wander the earth but he was not killed or punished as for example Prometheus (of the greek methology) was for stealing the fire of gods which seems to me a much more sever punishment. God loved Cain even after what he has done so why can't we? Why can't you? Love! Love each other. Love those who help and thoes who hurt be patient and strong and never point at others if you yourself are no better. Look after what you are doing. If every person would look after themeselves rather then being busy at pointing fingers at others none of this would've been happening.

im for gay marrige, but i dont like that i have to say that cos to me, it shouldnt even be debated or it shouldnt even be in the court system no one but the people who wish to get married should have a say in this, i mean it slike a paper boi telling a scientist how to do his job...it just dont make sense at all i think all those who dont agree with it need to have a solid reason why they dont agree with it...none of this bullshit about how we have to protect marrige and the sanctity of marrige....if thats the case...if you want to protect marrige what they should do is ban divorce....make marrige like the mafia "once your in, then your in for good"...........simples
It also shows that you care enough to believe in equal rights for everyone. I really truly wish there were more guys like you standing up (women tend to be a little more open about it) but for some reason guys seem to think if they have gay friends or stand up for equal rights that they are going to be branded as being gay so I have an enormous amount of respect for you. I know it might seem like just a small deal to you but it says volumes to me about the type of person you are. I have been with my partner for 8 years and we really want to get married but in the state we live its still illegal, we are going to go ahead and get married since its now legal in Washington DC which is a little over an hour for us, but even still it wont be recognized in Virginia where we live. Well I`m starting to ramble and i`ll I really wanted to was say thank you for being the type of guy thats comfortable enough in his own skin to stand up for the rest of us.

i dont like the way people bring religion into it to try and justify thier own hatred towards something,,,just because they dont understand it, it doesnt make it wrong, i personally dont follow any religion as i was never brought up on it but i respect the opinions of those that do but..

How does who I love and want to marry affect you in anyway? All we want are the same benefits that marriage gives to you. My partner and I have been together for 8 years and if something happens to me why shouldnt my pension go to him or his insurance cover me. Does that affect you in anyway? We arent in your face gay we keep are lives private.
Being gay is hard enough with the unfair judgements and hateful comments that we have to live with day to day. You say you like LIBERTY well this is what the dictonary defines LIBERTY as.

Where once did you mention Gods Love all you did was throw fire and hell.... i`m sure you might not have meant it to be as nasty as it came out but it was, at least to me. I deal with enough hate and BS because i`m gay, christians need to shows Gods love not his condemnation

Look for instance the people that Jesus surrounded himself with. Tax collectors and harlots just to name a few. Saul before becoming Paul was a persecutor and murder of christians.
What about other verses of the bible where stoning your children to death for disobedience was the norm people need to realize that the bible was written 2000 years ago and there are parts of the bible that have been left out and parts I belive parts that were added.
