Mexican President blames loose US gun laws and American addicts for fueling his country's drug violence– – Do you have any comment for the Mexican president?

Max 2012/09/03 21:54:05

Presenting
the final annual report of his presidency, Calderon insisted that his
2006 decision to deploy thousands of troops to round up drug traffickers was not to blame for the relentless crime wave plaguing the country.

But he also pointed his finger at the United States,
saying criminals were able to arm themselves with powerful guns after
Washington lawmakers refused to renew a law banning the sale of assault weapons such as AK-47 rifles in 2004.

The
United States, he said, "is co-responsible for this grave problem
because they are the consumers, they are the providers of funds and they
are the providers of weapons."

Place blame where it belongs - your nation's failed police force, poverty, and Americas failed drug war.

Maybe this guy should just join the friggin' club of other countries that want to blame America for their problems because they still can't take responsibility for their own actions. Maybe that's also the reason Mexico is still considered a developing country.

He's right about the addicts. This is something the left has fluffed off for years blaming the government for non intervention. So the government walks away from the borders, the place is open and we have American territory with Federal signs saying they are no man's land. This crap has gone on full blast since Clinton's regime with the letter to Border patrol to seize the drugs but unless its a Kilo or more no arrests. The heavy weapons don't come from us as we don't sell submachine guns or RPG's.

    Dear Sr. Calderon:

Who prevented you from putting up a fence on YOUR side of the border and policing YOUR citizens? What prevented you from offering to take back your citizens who keep pouring OUT of Mexico and INTO the U.S.? What prevented you from insisting that "anchor babies" be brought to the home of their parents?

Yes, our dumb laws made your job harder. But whining is VERY unpresidential. Mr. Obama is learning that; you should too.

    The addicts part sure.

But since only about 15-30% of the cartel weapons come from the USA, our gun laws have little to do with it.

Now our inaction when it comes to sealing the border is another issue that helps them.

The violence continues because there is too much money involved. We could deliver a killing blow to the Mexican cartels by merely legalizing Marijuana, controlling it as alcohol and tobacco are now. Anyone who hasn't smoked a little weed in their lives in my opinion are completely misinformed. The vast majority who smoke weed have little or no interest in doing any other drug. It is their version of the after work cocktail.

Essentially accurate. If Americans didn't do drugs, there probably wouldn't be a bunch of warlords ravaging Mexico trying to transport the stuff.

Think about that next time you light up, Pot Heads.

Longstride, please consider this. If Marijuana were legal in this country, which in many people's opinion it always should have been it would remove 65% of their profits.
