Such attacks from extremists suggest that those on the fringe may be unable to distinguish between the center and the other side. Right-wingers may consider mainstream conservatives as being progressive (e.g., McCain & Romney), or "RINO." Their delusions may equate "Republican" or "conservative" with right-wing, which excludes more moderate Republicans.

Due to their political myopia, they may not be able to see the forest for the trees.
By polarizing the GOP in this manner, they may hand elections to actual progressives.

Meghan McCain is a Progressive (Regressive) like her father. They think that government is established for elites like them to tell all the minions what is and what isn't good for them. They are no better than the Democrats of the same persuasion. Liberty is lost on them!

We have big problems in this country regardless of McCain's position.

Remember: Almost half of the electorate is Democrat and half Republican. Almost half are conservative and half progressive. The center is the midpoint. McCain and Bush are center right, while Biden and Obama are center left. Center left and center right are close together.

If Obama is center left, who's left? We have big problems in this country because we are looking to men to solve our problems as if they can be trusted. None of them can, including myself. Truth must be acknowledged and adhered to then we will see the healing of our nation. I contend that those truths are found in the Bible, the Word of God!
