This is just sour grapes by McCain Supporters who feel they have already lost the election. It would be better to put their energies at trying to work to make their country work together other than just destroying the other side. The Democrats have had over eight years of being alienated considering they have not had enough votes to overide any veto. Has any one heard of the Boston Tea Party? It was the ceremonial start of the revolutionary war. It was over 3% taxation without representation. America has faught every war we have been in on part for FREEDOM. Socialism, the re-distrobution of wealth by over taxing the rich and giving to the poor is NOT freedom. It is taxation without representation! I think there is a good chance that it could happen? But, it would have to take a major event. I hope it does not happen but, it should happen!

There is a fear of "socialized medicine" in this country. I lived in Sweden and they have socialized medicine and it works out very well. All "socialized" means is everybody is entitled to insurance, not just those are who are rich. People are so afraid of change.

It's the transition to socialized medicine that is scary...so many people and jobs would be affected... Doctors and those working in medical professions, employees of current hospitals and clinics, lawyers, health and automobile insurance companies and their employees, the list is extensive. We aren't afraid of change, just the length of the transition, which would be considerable in this country. Doctors would be paid on a government set scale, the availability of equipment would be limited by government , and there are, indeed, waiting lists for non-emergency procedures and tests.
