McCain is fooling no one. He is running a deperate campaign and is looking to hoodwink the voting masses into believing he is something he is not ---a reformer. Truth is he was and is part of the problem we now face.

Senator McCain is being currently paid as a U.S. Senator. Again this shows the nastiness and meaness of liberals. He is fulfilling his obligation as U.S. Senator, to the State of Arizona, and to the nation. Why don't you liberals show how many votes Barrack Hussein Obama has missed in the last two years? He has not represented the State of Illinois, or the nation well. Barrack Hussein Obama has missed many votes in the Senate, because running for president was more important. While Barrack Hussein Obama was in the Illinois Senate, he failed to show any leadership on many issues. He did this by voting present. At least Senator McCain is doing his job. This is just another case of liberal bias by liberals and the liberal media. I would like to reccomend to those who have not seen it in my other messages a book called Bias. This book was written by a member of the media. His name is Bernard Goldberg. This book will tell you how the media works.

It is in line with him being COUNTRY FIRST and working for the PEOPLE!

    Audacity of a giant EGO!
Obama spent his time in the Senate writing a book and campaigning for himself!
He had the chance to reform or spark major legislation and did nothing!
He does not work for America- he works for himself!
We can't risk America on someone who never risked anything for America!
spark major legislation work america- works risk america risked america

I think it is a responsible move for both candidates to get back to Washington and vote on this issue. However, I beleive the debate waould be a perfect place, and time, to discuss their economic plans. Maybe more people would pay attention and know the difference between their stands.

I completely agree. I just don't understand why McCain doesn't think he can do both? I mean if its so important that he be there (washington) on friday why doesm't he do a satilite feed during the debate and at least show up and debate the issues for the people? I think its a complete tactical move on his part and I think he is afraid to debate Obama because he is not a very good debater. Look what happened during the primary's between him and Romeny, they got into that big fight........... it was pretty funny seeing them lose their temper. LOL

Regardless if the candidates were back in Washington or not, an agreement is close and will happen with or without them. The concern is, presidents like most CEO's have to multi-task. They're are other very grave issues that need to be talked about, a "few little things" like the Occupation of Iraq, and the war in Afghanistan to name just two.

I think 100 million people who are planning on watching it should see that, don't you?

I think he is going to Washington to do what we are paying him to do. I am offended that Obama does not care to take ownership of any part of this bill. It is like voting present once again. The stakes are very high and if anyone is nieve enough to think this is about politics I truely feel sorry for you. Most payrolls are met across this country with checking accounts tied to credit lines so that no paycheck ever bounces. Those credit lines would be at risk of being closed. How would you like your paycheck to bounce. I was an executive director in corp. America for 25 years. Why are American people taking their cue from Hollywood when they are so out of touch with reality. They spend more in a bar in an evening than most Americans make in a week or month. I think Obama is the one running away from the problem, so he can claim he didn't have anyhing to do with it. I WANT HIS NAME ON ANY BILL THAT IS PASSED.

Obama didn't say he wasn't going, what he said why can't we do both??? And just so you know he has been talking to Dodd and Paulson on this issue. He as spoken to them several times as well as others. And he probably will be there to vote on it, and if he isn't I am ok with that because there are plenty of people who pass the bailout, neither he or McCain have to be there to pass the bailout.

You try to debate another canidate when you are running for president and fix the entire eonomy at the same time and then tell me then tell me that you think he should multi-task, i would like to see the debate to. But i would much rather see how these canidates handle this crisis, cuz it is a much more real issue.

Oh brother, do you really think McCain or Obama need to be there to vote on this thing? Its going to pass either with or without them. All they need to do is stay informed and continue to keep communicating which is what Obama has been doing since last week by phoning both Dodd and Paulson and others. But I haven't seen one person involved in that has said they have spoken to McCain................... and now all of sudden he has this great to urge to be there to vote on the bailout???? And if McCain is not extrordinary enough to do both he shouldn't be President, they have to multi task every day. Balancing the economy, national security and the list goes on and on..............

    I think...

I think Senator McCain, if he isn't "losing it", he's getting close. Wednesday morning Senator Obama contacted the McCain camp and "suggested" they issue a joint statement concerning the financial crisis. McCain comes out to tell the world that he is "suspending his campaign, cancelling the debate and flying immediately back to Washington to help get thru this mess"..He also cancelled an appearance on Letterman for that night.

What does he do? Instead of Letterman, he appears with Katy Couric of CBS at the same time that he was supposed to be taping with Letterman, (following the hapless Palin who Katy tried in vain to get some answers from, and the Governor again showed why she is being sheltered from the press), and his "immediate" return to D.C. isn'[t going to happen until some time today, Thursday.

Obama in the meantime, indicated that the debate should go on, that the people want to hear and see the candidates on all sorts of issues and the bailout is going to happen regardless.

This is getting curiouser and curiouser.

Yeah I understand you, the conventions is where I made up my mind as well. I was a Hillary supporter but just had issues with Obama and McCain that I had a difficult time resolving. But the choice of Palin clinched it for me as well. And after watching her with Katie Couric last night I feel even better. I understand why they keep trying to hide her from the press, she just keeps showing her weaknesses with every interview.

I don't dislike Palin as a person. I feel for her actually. I am sure she is/was genuinely excited about the prospect to be VP. I wonder if she's having second thoughts? By no means do I think she's stupid, but she has so much to absorb... not just on the issues but SO much to learn. IE: Learning how to "talk" alone is difficult, even if you do know what to say.

I actually agree with you. I don't dislike her either, but I sure don't agree her with on many issues. I also don't believe she is informed on the issues which will lead to huge mistakes if something were to happen to John and since he is 73, and a 4 time cancer survivor its a very real possiblity that she could be in the first chair. I personally don't believe she is ready for it and I just don't agree politically with her on a lot of issues. But she seems nice enough, that just isn't a good enough reason for me to vote for her.
