When they asked Jesus, "are you Elijah, returned as prophesied"? He answered, "No, that was John the Baptist, and you knew him not".

For before John came, all the teachings of the Scrriptures looked forward to the present time. And if you aare willing to accept what I say, he is Elijiah, the one the prophets said would come.

    Nothing. Bunch of fictional gibberish.

What does Chapter 11, pages 13 & 14 of Homer's Illiad mean to you?

Hi Phamie. I like a lot of your posts. But this one is honestly gibberish to me. There are lots of Biblical quotes I could comment on, but not this one. I give people a hard time when they give opinions on things when they shouldn't, so I was taking my own advice, and not doing so. Maybe not succeeding though. Cheers.

You are refreshingly honest, and I do respect a guy who takes his own advice. Very commendable trait. Thank you for visiting though.

Bugger off Brenda, you're a wack job. Let me and Phamie have our conversation in peace. She's not only got a lot of class, she's got a lot of intelligence too. Come back when you figure out how "profile photos" work. Dickie, eh? (insert your own joke here)

Some notes found on this scripture:Matthew 11: 12-15

The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence (Gr. biazomai):

The meaning of this saying, and the connecting verses 12-14 with preceding and following contexts, indicates that John opened the kingdom of heaven to sinners and thus became the culminating point of Old Testament witness,. Jesus' statement that "this is Elijah" indicates the ministry predicted by Malachi 4:5,6

5 Behold, I will send to you Elijah the prophet before the comming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
    Malachi 4: 5-6 KJV

It means what the Old Testament Predicted: Comfort for G-d's People - Isaiah 40 ( A voice of one calling in the desert prepares (the way for the LORD) make straight in the wilderness.

It also means (the way for the LORD) in the Old Testament Isaiah 42 the prediction of Yeshua

That is why Yeshua responded that way- The Torah and Old Testament are the old scrolls of the Jews and the jews were not paying attention when John arrived.

There are Jews who embrace Jesus as the Messiah. It is not a part of their religion, it is an individual choice. Jesus was an orthodox Jew during His lifetime.

Are you a Christian? One would have severe doubt about that after reading your response to jimfetter - little, if anything, was Christian about it either in content or in tone. As far as prayers are concerned, you should turn a few of them towards yourself that you would be granted a speck of charity towards others. Amen!

God answers all my prayers. You tell me then, the difference between a Christian God and the Jewish God.
You don't even make sense to me. You just attack. God is love, not the hell, fire, and brimstone that you spew.
I hope you find this out soon.
