I feel inspired to believe in the best of people when I hear this one. I know it may be cliche - however, I find it thoughtful and reflective on his birthday today. How far have we come - and how far do we have to go?

Actually on April 4, 1967 Dr. King addressed the Clergy and Laity Concerned at Riverside Church in New York City.

The speech has always been titled, 'Beyond Vietnam'.

From time to time, we need "saints" -- people who do what is needed for the benefit of humankind even at the risk of their own lives. King was such a man, an inspiration to us all, regardless of our skin color. And this speech says that -- yes, it's incredibly idealistic, but that's just what we need right now -- something to bring us out of our cynicism.
