The Chinese economy is slowing. That's the biggest reason. The next biggest reason is the upheaval in the middle east, followed by the global recession. Presidents have nothing to do with the price of oil unless they slap a huge tax on it.

Let me get this right. When the Gas prices go up it's the President's fault. When the Gas prices go down there are all kinds of reasons world wide for this.
What a bunch of clowns you Republicans are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are driving about the same, but our cars are getting better gas milage. Plus the crackdown on speculators greedily bidding up the price of oil to line their pockets with profits put the oil prices back to supply /demand rules.

Not at all it is a seasonal adjustment and as more regulations go into place the prices will go up.

Low prices are mainly due to Saudi Arabia pumping out nearly 10 million barrels a day, the highest production rate from them in nearly 30 years and production now exceeds demand. Current price is about $79, down from $109 in February.
Apparently their plan is to drive down the cost of oil to about $60 a barrel so they can hurt Iran, this was reported about a week ago from a Russian diplomat in Saudi.

Not to burst your bubble but falling gas prices are not good news. Essentially falling gas prices mean the economic recovery is on hold. That doesn't help Obama.

The Republicans would be talking non-stop about this if Bush was president.

even then they don't, flaca. presidents don't levy taxes - Congress does.
but then they're more than happy to blame the president if he's from the opposing party. both sides do it.

Gas prices always fall when a recession begins, or in this case a "double dip" recession.

The reason gas prices are falling like a rock is because the economic outlook is collapsing; the reason why they increased so much previously was because of the change in the value of the dollar due to inflation.

What I find interesting is when the President asked the SEC to look into the speculators causing the rise in gas prices. It was just a couple of weeks later the prices started falling. Not one Repub has said a word since that time!
