In the last 12 years we have spent trillions on war and bailing out the banks. The middle 60s and early 70s gave us Apollo and put men on the moon. Since then we have had many booms in our economy, our economy has grown much larger since then. We have a GDP of nearly $15 trillion, the GDP in 1972 was a little over a trillion, to be exact =($1237.9). If we can send a man to the moon then with almost 15 times less GDP, why do we not send a Man to Mars now with a $15 trillion GDP. With all the trillions we spent on war and bailing out the banks. Would we really miss the $300 billion it would cost to put a man on Mars. Plus think of the jobs it would provide in the tech industry and the money that would be pumped into the economy not to mention the new technologies that would come out of it. My theory is that Olympus Mons the largest volcano ever seen so far in the solar system, blew trillions of dollars worth of diamonds all over Mars and are probably laying in thin dirt all around the volcano. Volcano's are known for blowing Diamonds out from deep in the earths mantle where they are formed. Olympus Mons being a large deep super Volcano likley blew out a few Trillion dollars worth of Diamonds from deep inside the mantle of Mars. I think it will pay off for men to be on Mars and to secure a dominant position for the U.S. in space. The Earth comes close to Mars between 2014 and 2018, we should go then.

Mars comes close between 2014 and 2018 should the U S go

Mars coming relatively close to Earth in 2014 to 2018 is no help. A trip to Mars cannot take the shortest direct route but follows an almost circular path from Earth to Mars, taking 12 to 18 months each way.

A bit of a problem-the US will be bankrupt. There's American's who don't have enough money to eat, or pay for heating-American's can't find jobs. NASA style jobs are for those very elite who have very expensive Degree's.

Perhaps the US could figure out a plan for making the other countries pay for it-like the Russians who first started charging like a $million for a passenger.

As to the diamond idea, there's a ton of diamonds here already. The DeBeers people keep them, & trickle just so many onto the market, to keep the value up-which makes me think of the Arabs doing the same thing with the oil, so we're paying through our nose for gas.

And Obama has kept our oil going to other countries, instead of us using it, & then pays the inflated prices for the imported oil-it's no wonder he's never had an economic plan, has not helped our economy-just got us $5 trillion more in debt.

It seems rather silly to think of spending over $300 billion for a trip to Mars.

Mars has a bunch of Volcano's, the largest being (Olympus Mons) its 10 times the land mass of the largest Volcano on Earth, and three times the height. Its so big that it stretched the land around it forming a giant crack that extends almost 5000 miles (Valles Marineris). Volcanoes produce diamonds and all kinds of other valuable stones. Mars has a huge amount of carbon in its soil and atmosphere, so volcanic deep compression on Mars must have made beautiful diamonds or valuable stones. Mars is probably loaded with diamonds, we just have to find where they are. Most natural diamonds are formed at high temperature and pressure at depths of 140 to 190 kilometers (87 to 120 mi) in the Earth's mantle. Carbon-containing minerals provide the carbon source, and the growth occurs over periods from 1 billion to 3.3 billion years (25% to 75% of the age of the Earth). Diamonds are brought close to the Earth′s surface through deep volcanic eruptions by a magma, which cools into igneous rocks known as kimberlites and lamproites. well, goodluck on that. We've just lost our country, so we'll see where our money goes now.

-What Muslim is taking over the United States?
-He has already said that he is in support of space missions to the Asteroid Belt.
-Why are we giving money to the Military that already has plenty of money, and is not asking for anymore.

We didn't lose the country, that is up to the citizens to decide if the country is lost or not... not a Presidential Policy.

Obama is muslim, & has ties to radical Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood, who've sword to kill alll infidels-us.

We need our Military. & now they are asking for the money-they said it would be disaster for their funding to be reduced

Obama has made 923 executive orders that will take over our country-entirely-alll he has to do is declare a national emergency. look them up & read them. your hair will stand on end..

Why are we doing a political debate on a Mars Mission thread?

-What proof do you have that he is a Muslim, and why does it matter if he is?
-What proof do you have that he has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood?
-We have a strong military, we have the ability to fight every country in the world and win. That is how strong the United States Military is. It is not going to be strong for long unless we spend money on economy and boost technological advances.
-923 Orders to take over the country? Please link me the page, because honestly, I think this is absurd.

Nevermind: Found it: This is all conspiracy theories. This theory is no different than the 9/11 Theory.

-I made a sentence that you asked me to elaborate on.
-He said he was a Muslim in his book, & on video.
-It matters because Muslims are sworn to kill all infidels(non converts to Islam) Sharia law supports their oaths-icluding abuse to women.
-He helped the Muslim Brotherhood overthrow our Egyptian allie, & take power. He did the same thing in Libya.
-Our Military will only stay strong if it's not defunded like Obama wants.
-the economy has not rebounded under obama. He has added $6 trillion in debt in 4 yrs.He can't manage money, or our country. He needs to quit gov't spending on pork, & use the money WISELY.
-The 923 executive orders were pointed out on SH, & the most pertinent ones (about 4, or 5) were typed out. so you found it-mind giving it to me, as I don't have it with me.
If it's not a conspiracy theory, or is the truth, we'll find out. We'll see what he does.

-What video did he say he was a Muslim?

-Where in the book did it say he was Muslim?

-Just like Christians are sworn to kill women who are not virgins on their wedding day, and justified slaughtering of women and children who are not of the Christian faith? Slaves shall obey their masters? Men are rulers over Women? You mean those same type of values that Christians hold dearly? This bigotry needs to stop, you are confusing Moderate Muslims with Extremism.

-To promote Democracy across the Arab world. Using the Muslim Brotherhood as a catalyst to do this. All he is doing is allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to gain power so that they can promote AMERICAN VALUES. Egypt were not listening to their people, and was being a dictatorship. Even to the point where they started attacking their own people. He is NOT part of the Muslim Brotherhood, he is merely a supporter of the spread of Democracy.

-He did not add six trillion dollars in debt. In fact he slightly raised it, then lowered the deficit. Job growth is increasing, but not very fast.

Look up the video-it's on SH, & I'm sure elsewhere.
The book, "Dreams of my Father" I think it's called. again, it's on SH, but you can look that up too.

You're out of your mind if you think modern day Christians believe that crap, & they never believed what Muslim teaches.Don't try to confuse Dark Ages theology with modern day.
But, currently, right now, Islam teaches most of that, & most importantly that they swear an oath to kill all infidels-non believers. & Obama is one of them. Great huh?

It's not spreading Democrasy to have those same Muslim brotherhood attack & bomb the American Embassy in Egypt, & then in Libya attack our Embassy & kill our Ambassador & 3 others.
    You call that democrasy?

Yes, he added $6 trillion in debt. everybody knows it. It's part of his horrible track record.

I'm too stressed to look the stuff up for you, my car broke down...
