A man in NY discovered that his cell phone could turn on his stove. The guy, Andrei Melnikov, figured out that if he receives a call on his cell phone, while within two feet of this stove, the phone will trigger the broiler to turn on. Melnikov had to unplug his stove and call Maytag to come fix the problem. Andrei already caught a piece of plastic cookware of fire, not knowing his cell phone would turn the stove broiler on.
