Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash insisted that the sexual relations he had with his accuser was "between two consenting adults" -- and that seems to be the case as the man has now recanted his accusations. The man, who has not identified himself, described his sexual relationship with Clash as "adult" and "consensual" on Tuesday, which was much different than when the story first broke and he claimed he was only 16 years old.

Clash has since responded with a statement of his own, saying he is "relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest." Do you think the accuser just wanted some cash from the whole ordeal?

Now throw this into the countless thousands of claims that aren't recanted and how many people's lives are ruined because of it.

If people want to make allegations, better be able to back it up, other wise I think they should face the same penalty as those they accuse.

Most likely this was the case. This same stunt was tried with Micheal Jackson after he settled out of court on a similar accusal. He fought it and it turned out that the accusal was just an attempt to get money. That delayed and/or stopped future claims as they would have to work even harder to prove something actually happened.

It's easy money because the person who gets those allegations on one famous person means easy $$$$$ hence that person paying them to drop the law suite.

No biblical law supports your accusations or assumptions. They are your personal opinion. 16 is still the age of consent in most states. It's legal. If you truly had a relationship with someone why wait all these years and then try and taint their name and reputation? Clearly he wanted money to go away.

This is a very , very tragic story. Mr Clash will never for the rest of his life ever live down the stigma of such an accusation that was falsly brought upon him. The person that did this should be arrested and stripped of his American citizenship and set adrift in the Persian Gulf. Then God can deal with his sorry soul.
