Yes, gun control would have stopped this attack?
No, it would not have made a difference.

Will this story about the 6 murdered innocent muslims be used by gun control groups to try to stop guns from being bought and sold, like the very insane vicious heartless attack during the movie Batman?
Would gun control have stopped this attack

Any determined murderer would have had to use a messier alternative (like a bomb) and most gun owners are responsible and have no desire to shoot innocent human beings.

Amendment II. A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

    PERIOD!!

What good reason can you come up with that would require the need for an automatic weapon that can kill a thousand people in one minute?

Your question is about the Sikh Temple shooter who used a 9 mm handgun, although he did have multiple magazines. Are you suggesting law-abiding citizens revert to muskets while criminals go for the most deadly? There are now over 200 million guns in the United States, so gun control will not work at this point. It's common sense criminals will always get their hands on whatever they want, if they want it. Why punish the rest of us?

(muskets) Your going a bit overboard aren't you? I am talking about machine guns that can kill massive amounts of people and I am well aware of what he used to kill the people. I believe I did write a thousand rounds a minute, I don't think a 9 millimeter shoots that amount.

All that matters is that someone already managed to take a human tragedy and apply their partisan talking point to it.

I agree with 2nd amendment, but at this point we all have to start carrying in the house of worship to protect us from narrow minded bigot? This is not what America is about. I hate saying this, but we're going in reverse, and becoming what we were in the 1960's. Remember whats in the 1st amendment, and it's about the freedom of Religion.

You are absolutely correct there as well. Our forefathers designed the constitution to allow for freedom of religion. I think many have forgotten that as well. Thank you for your reply.

The shooter was a White Supremacist, and gun control wouldn't have stopped this shooting. I agree with the second amendment, but on the other hand, I'm starting to question why riot gear (as reported the shooter had on) is being sold to the general public? Are we afraid that Yogi the bear, and Bullwinkle the moose will learn to shoot a 9mm at us?

Sikhs are not Muslim. I went through basic training with one.

    sikh

He is the one in the lower left of the photo wearing the turban. And yes, he was not required to shave, as that is part of his religion.

A Sikh is a follower of Sikhism religion, not a Muslim.

Had one or more of those in attendance been carrying a gun, maybe fewer people would have been killed or injured. And maybe none............

This kind of mass murderer is not going to be cured because he can't get a weapon. He'll always figure out a way to cause mayhem. Bombs will just become the next weapon and placed in subways, as they did in London, can cause as much if not more in casualties.

Now, Christi, how many of these event would it take to tip the tide of opinion in the direction of controlling the availability of military style auto loaders to anyone who want s one? What if we had such an event every week? Every Day? Every six hours? Is there a point where the absurdity of making these weapons readily available becomes obviously the stimulant to the insane and murderous that you would recognize the relationships?

Okay, first, they're Sikhs NOT MUSLIMS! That's probably the false assumption the shooter made when he decided to kill those innocent people. Second, gun control will NEVER stop crazies from killing people. The ONLY thing that could have stopped him would have been a worshiper who was carrying concealed. These Gun Control a-holes REALLY need to get a brain.

The gun prohibition would not have helped but if the people in the Temple had guns fewer of them would have been shot.

You don't have to control that stuff or even rifles that are for hunting or hand guns. I just have a problem with the automatic weapons and not all of them. This is a farming country and people need weapons to protect themselves.

How many of these killings have to happen before this country wakes up and realizes that something needs to change. Arming the entire population will not help but will indeed only make it worse. Instead to the occasional crazy gunman like this we could begin seeing killing increase because carrying guns and alcohol do not mix. How would you like to go to a bar and know that at least half those drunks are armed.

The state I live in right now has an open carry law. As long as the gun is in a holster and the safety is on you are free to carry in plain site. And no permit is required. Our local city government is trying to stop that but because it is a state law it will not have much luck. And this is not a state you would think needed this law at all.

I am not for a total ban on guns by any means but we need to come back to some semblance of reason. This wild west mentality is not good.

To answer you statement directly...it should not matter what religion people are they are still law abiding people that need protection from this. The fact they are muslims is irrelevant.
