Cable network CNBC deserves praise for correcting the common liberal lie
that the rich get richer every year, and pay lower tax rates than ever
before. IRS data actually shows that top money-makers were hurt badly in
the recession, and paid more - not less - in taxes.

There are a LOT of truths that are starting to come out. SPIN is the biggest reason to vote HONEST people into our Govt Offices then keep an eye on what they are doing. Crooked Politicians are always looking for ways to "SPIN" anything that comes up.

Everyone gets hurt when the economy goes sour. But the Liberals still want to spend spend spend so they hit the ones that have crated thier own wealth and try to find ways to take it away from them. The rich only get richer when we have a good economy. Just like everyone else when the economy is good we all make a better living or are able to spend a little more. Get the price of gas down way below 2 bucks a gallon and see what happens with the economy people will have more money to spend.

People always want to blame the rich when in fact they pay a helluva lot more than we ever will in taxes. Do they look for tax breaks, of course they do, you would to if you had the IRS up your butt all the time. We need all classes of people to make a society work. We cannot all be equal, that just simply DOES NOT work.

It's kind of easy to blame the rich, unfortunately. It seems like people are more easily able to envy than admire.

I admire. I want to be rich. Right now, I'd settle for not losing my house. Or having a full time paying job. Or for my husband having any job at all.

But I WANT to be rich, and am glad for those who made it. I don't want to tear others down to where I am - I want up with them!

the taxes for everyone are as low as they have been in over twenty years and thats stright from the IRS.The rich may have paid more this year only because the rules on wall street changed and because they didnt invest in anything.I was once a biss owner and when the market was unstable I sat on my money and thats what they are doing now and not createing jobs either

The nominal tax rates may be lower than previously, but it is the REAL tax rates that matter.... i.e. bucks outta your pocket because of government. Many regulation-mandated costs are simply passed on to consumers as higher prices.... According to the National Taxpayers' Union, the average American is paying @ 66% of their income to gov't imposed costs........ taxes, to those of us who live in the real world.

oh I will give you that,im in trucking and since fule prices are high I have to charge a fuel surcharge which in turn bumps the price to transport up so that increases the price at the store for the normall person but thats not from taxes which are already high enough on gas and fuel but im not blameing the gov.for the high price that ones on the oil companies
