It means 'London Interbank Offered Rate - LIBOR'.
It is the rate at which banks can borrow money from each other. The scandal is that banks manipulated this rate to make money. Reminds you of the housing financ e scheme that brought this country to it's knees.
Who is responsible? You and me in both cases. Some of us saw it but the electorate sheeple didn't and still dont. They blindly believe that Mitt Romneys unregulated financial markets will create jobs. They blindly believe that Barrack Obamma can regulate banks along with Dem support. Truth is, the banks own both parties but they particularly own Romney and the Repubs. Follow the money in this Presidential campaign. I seriously doubt most sheeple have a clue how to do this.
Who is to blame? It is very, very simple. We are and the 525 elite that have been blindly elected to the senate and congress based on issues such as abortion, prayer in school, healthcare and on and on.
America? If you want change, get smart! Dems and Repubs could do it but they won't. Why should they? They are set and you will continue to elect them.
So, why is LIBOR important? Because without significant changes in the banking system both in the US and elsewhere with some significant regulation to stop the financial greed and avarice? The sheeple will always remain screwed!
