Liberals, cram this in your pipe and smoke it: WaPo poll says 75% of Americans support voter ID laws
-------------------------------------------------------
A little-reported Washington Post poll Monday indicated that nearly 75% of adults in the country support laws requiring voters to show official identification before casting their ballots.
“In your view, should voters in the United States be required to show official, government-issued identification — such as a drivers license — when they cast ballots on Election Day, or shouldn’t they have to do this?” pollsters asked a random sample of 2,047 adults in the country between July 18 and 29, 2012.
According to the graphs, 74% of respondents said voters “should be required” to show a valid form of identification, and 57% of the group said they felt “strongly” about the matter. The estimated margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

From there, the Washington Post tried to ascertain why people are in favor of voter ID laws.
“Do you think voter fraud (pause) that is, people voting who are not eligible to do so, or voters casting multiple ballots — is a major problem, a minor problem or not a problem in presidential elections?
A staggering 81% responded that voter fraud is a problem– 48% saying it is a “major” problem, and 33% saying it is a “minor” problem.
Just 14% of respondents said voter fraud is not a problem at the current time.

How is that for hypocrisy?
There are 1.8 million dead people on the voter id lists across America.
Hey that seems to be a pretty accurate poll!!!
WRT us, not voting Nov 6th is a vote for Obama and Obamunism.
All that poll means is that 81% of the people that responed are wrong.
We should never allow the rights of any person, persons or groups of people to be put to a popular vote... especially when that right will be demogoged by the small minded hateful few.
I take it that you are perfectly fine with disinfranchising millions of people to solve a Non Issue? That is correct, a Non Issue. The justice department under George W. Bush (Opps I mentioned the unmentionable name) spent millions over 8 years and could only document 86 cases of actual voter fraud. It is some rediculous .000whatever percent of the votes cast during that period. Look that up! But that won't stop the republicans from fixing something that isn't broken so that you can get a better result. In 2004 Ohio voters in the heaviest populated areas were left to wait for hours many of which did not get to vote. The result was Ohio going for George W. Bush (Sorry I said it again). So after this was documented by the press the Republican legislators in Ohio decided to expand early voting so more voters would have an oppourtunity to vote. In 2008 the expanded voting hours led to many additional voters and as coincidence would have it, Barack Obama carried the state. So of course th...&

So after this was documented by the press the Republican legislators in Ohio decided to expand early voting so more voters would have an oppourtunity to vote. In 2008 the expanded voting hours led to many additional voters and as coincidence would have it, Barack Obama carried the state. So of course the Republican legislators have seen the error of their ways and have now reduced the early voting in the last 3 days (they tried for more) before the election (93,000 people voted in that same time period in 2008) except for the military (after all no self respecting conservative can resist wrapping themselves in the flag) which has led to the current lawsuits filed by the Obama administration for eqaul early voting days for all people (after all isnt that what the military really is fighting for, or is it just for conservative voters?). Of course the Romney campaign has twisted this into Obama attemting to restrict the military.. Wow! Is it really ok with republican voters to have your candidate be such an obvious liar? Also in Ohio their will be early voting in the heavily republican counties but not in the heavily democratic areas as each county has 4 voting officials (2 Dems & 2 Cons) They decide voting hours. Of course the Democrates are always pushing for easier voting so when these four people voted to expand early voting the Democrates in many of the counties voted Yes however the deceptful Republicans only voted Yes in the Republican counties but voted No in the Democratic counties. When there is a tie the Secretary of State breaks the tie and in truly unethical form the Republican Secretary of State sided with the Republicans in every tie leaving the Democratic counties with less voting hours than Republican counties. Seriously Why Is That OK? And that is just 1 of the 28 states attempting to restrict the vote. Leads one to believe that the Republican party has come to the conclusion they cannot win a national election, given the changing demographics and their intorerance for that change, without gaming the system.
Of course, to the unthinking Liberals, EVERYTHING they're against is "hateful."
You DO realize no one takes it seriously?
The fact that voter fraud of this type is virtually nonexistent yet 81% think it's a problem is a little scary but at least we can create a useless govt bureaucracy and spend money on jobs that don't need to be done.
This also helps explain why 18% believe the Sun revolves around the Earth. People are stupid.
They just scream "it's not a problem", "you're a racist", blah blah.
Almost as if they're programmed to!
The idea that this type of fraud takes place to any extent is ludicrous even aside from the fact that every single investigation ever done has shown it to be virtually nonexistent.
Just finding people willing to risk a $10,000 fine and 5 years in prison alone makes it a nonviable option. The up side is that you may only need about 200,000 or so.
The part that bugs me is the creation of even more govt and more expense for a nonexistent problem.
/Liberal.
We need a valid Id for almost everything we do in this country, why is voting not one of them, unless you plan to steal an election. Look at the Minnesota election with A-hole Al Franken, 1100 criminals voted more than the margin that douche bag won by, and he was the 60th vote that let O'dummy push his reckless and worthless Obamacare through Congress.
Im a 75%er and full blooded American who simply wants whats best for his country.
Whats best for this country? Common sense conservatism.
