Let the First Amendment/Freedom of Press Ring? How can this happen? A big slap in the most abject way coming soon, folks~Blame it on the "Non-Traditional News Agencies"

Chi~Cat 2012/04/17 10:29:35
Have you heard the latest? The DOL is putting an end to reporters using their own computers/laptops/internet (which they have been using for years in the White House) and to decimate the out-putting of information to US, the People of the United States of America or anyone, thereof; by justifying those actions because "they say" there were "2" cases of "leaks" which (supposedly) involved fraud in the jobless numbers in the past. Where is the evidence? Why have they not provided this? They are quite mum.

They did say that "they would not be providing internet access." Yeah, right! Take all control of computers and web browsers, but yet, to exacerbate this inane policy and then on the same face to try and appease those that report doesn't make any sense.

The DOL said, that they will "tear" out the existing reporting news agencies' computers/wiring/installations and then install government same in order to prevent "leaks." Now, the leaks that supposedly were referenced have not been substantiated by the Department of Labor. Incidentally, who the heck do "they" think they are to do this and trounce on the First Amendment? Freedom of the Press? Come on!

Lastly, the DOL has also stated that they have 20-30 "exclusive" slots of "new" government computers to be used specifically by news agencies and that the DOL will have the sole right to pick/dole out those slots to certain news agencies. How does that grab ya, eh? Yikes.

What say you in re: of this? As always, feel free to leave a comment. Thank you.

Oh, I know there will be naysayers...pffftttttt~

By the way, this report was seen on Fox on 4/16/12, I have tried to locate same and cannot, if anyone can or has seen this, please let me know. Thanks~

SELECTION PROCESS PLAINLY STATED - Only the most favored!

This Policy Statement and News Organization Agreement (News Organization Agreement) identifies the policy
and procedures that the U.S. Department of Labor (the Labor Department, Department or DOL) will use to
determine which news organizations are authorized to participate in DOL lock-ups and the requirements applied
to those selected to participate. It also provides the agreement form that news organizations and their
participating representatives must sign to receive DOL press credentials

Exactly, Lock-ups provide press the opportunity to read, review, ask questions about and compose coverage of the data..

Anyone that wants to participate and is pre-approved its not a big conspiracy.

You're probably one of the Klan members aren't you...

Does the word LOCK-UP mean anything to you sir? Government PROVIDED only? does this ring any bells?
  • mich52 jean 2012/04/20 05:21:39
    mich52
In this case "lockup" means that media that has agreed to the rules DON'T release DOL information before others. It affects the Stock Market right? They're just saying that the "favored choices" need to follow the rules, otherwise its not fair to the rest of the media.. Sorry, Benefit of the doubt, Innocent till Proven Guilty, Etc..

It's those that want to sign up for it, and get it early. Thats the point some of them were cheating.. Everyone gets the same data its just a matter of the time before the Market opens... The numbers influence Wall St..

That doesn't seem to be what the journalists themselves are saying about this new rule.

EDIT: IT did respond with the per usual "cut & paste" job. They will never believe facts even if mandated by the White House!

You can't tell me the left had one area where they,

DIDN'T HAVE CONTROL OF THE NEWS?

Of course not, but it sure is a stealthy little Oblunder ploy. The reporters certainly aren't happy with this, and we shouldn't be, either.

Well, I did work for a major Newspaper and Network that is huge, same old chit, I would say, but nothing as aggressive as this and not even mentioned on LSM. That's the terrible thing. Wait, in a couple of months, this will be big news. That's unfortunate.

This was a blip, but the person interviewed knows the in and outs and is completely disgusted. This will be big news in a couple of months, but in that case, may be too late. The journalists are pissed at the fact the Solis is the one that picks the selected 20 to 30 news agencies for first dibs at the computers. It's crazy stuff. Who the hell are the DOL to say anything and I don't give a chit what kind of stuff people like that cut and paster "nich62" has to say, such a poseur that thinks he knows it all. This is pretty big and one step closer to what we all don't want.

Hey, it's cool to reference and give credit. But it is so evident that IT didn't even read the forward. Typical. The blah blah blah, like I need a freakin' lesson from that wipe! LOL! Nothing ever worthy. As I stated, took IT hours to come up with that. Didn't even address the leaks. Tx, me Nana, for you always bust them out so righteously!
