Lesbian Couple Charged With Staging Hate Crime

A lesbian couple who claimed they were victims of a hate crime have been arrested after police determined they staged the incidents.

On Oct. 28, Aimee Whitchurch, 37, and Christel Conklin, 29, called police and reported the words "Kill the Gay" were scrawled in red spray paint on the garage door of their Parker, Colo., home.

The next day, the couple told deputies they found a noose hanging on the handle of their front door.

The women told officers they believed the incidents were retaliation from their neighbors and homeowner's association, who had complained the couple did not pick up after their dogs.

Due to the nature of the crimes, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office worked in tandem with the FBI to investigate. After reviewing witness statements, authorities determined Whitchurch and Conklin had staged the incidents.

Both women are charged with criminal mischief and false reporting. Whitchurch faces an additional charge of forgery.

She told ABC's Denver affiliate KMGH-TV police were mistaken and vowed to fight the charges.

"This is a fight I started. This is a fight I'm going to finish. This is a fight I'm right on," she said. "I have every right to live where I want to live."

You know what ..
I have no sympathy for anyone who falsifies a statement ..
causes their own problems too ..
This is something that the Courts will take care of ..
and yes, they should be cleaning up after their animals and themselves too ..

when folks are actually seeing them do this right there?
Seriously .. I keep plastic bags in my garage and give them directly to the JERKS who let their dogs 'do it' on every yard but their own ..
it is SO IRRITATING to pick up after slobs ..
especially slobs that are their own worst enemies .. and have to manufacture evidence too ..

Not much was given about the dogs messing on someone's yard, just that some felt they did. That may or may not be true is all I am saying.

I tend to believe the homeowners around them ..
I know what it is like to deal with JERKS who do not pick up after themselves ..
and it is IRRITATING indeed how arrogant, obnoxious and nasty they can be when observed ..

Only read what was in the initial report. Yes it is irritating when people don't pick up after their dogs. I have to put up with it all the time. Most people will generally clean up after their dogs. Most of the exceptions happen when dogs get lose and roam the neighborhood. Yes owners should be more careful about their dogs but sometimes they still get out.

these are not dogs 'getting out' ..
they are .. one after another ..
the same irresponsible .. disrespectful .. arrogant nasties that do this deliberately ..
it is infuriating to deal with ones like this ..
which is why I have the plastic bags at hand and pass them to those people to pick up their own messes ..

Actually the women brought it up. The said they thought that the other homeowners and association vandilized them because they had previously complained to them about not picking up after their dog.

Yes but they didn't acknowledge that it was a valid complaint, only that the complaint was made. There is probably more to this story than is being reported.

Must be great to have so much faith in the police and our judicial. I just don't have such faith. I would like to see the evidence first and see if they are truly guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I have very little faith in the system, I said they should be charged like they would anyone else doing that crime.
To be charged the cops / prosecution will have to make sure they have enough evidence to believe they'll win. You probably won't be on the jury so in all likelihood won't see all the evidence.

The only question I have is;

If I were bi-sexual and I shot and killed a lesbian friend, wounded a hetroesxual cousin, then went back in time before the shooting and didn't shoot the lesbian but killed my hetrosexual cousin, would this mean I'm not Bi-sexual but really just gay?
