If you decide to try this, polygamy (polygyny) is still legal and practiced in most of Africa. The way to prevent serious fights between the wives and multiple in-law problems is to marry sisters. Start with the oldest and then marry them in age sequence. My Zambian wife was a real beauty and she had three lovely and one not so lovely little sisters. A lot of fun Couldn't bring them all back with me when I finished my contract there, unfortunately.

I am gay but I oppose gay marriage as I view it as a plot by divorce lawyers to make still more money. Polygamy would really enrich these vultures. The less marriage, the better.

All marriage should be illegal. People are not property, men should not own women.

A better idea would be to have everyone's DNA registered and hold the parents responsible for bringing their own progeny. Bringing a child in this world without proper preparation & support is bleeding us dry, especially single parenting.

If everyone is a consenting adult, why not? Let men and women have as many wives ad husbands as they want. I personally wish to only be in monogamous relationships, but some people are better suited to multiple partners. Just so long as everyone is aware of the fact the are in a polygamous relationship I see no problems.

Why the hell not? We're allowing marriage between 2 men or 2 women, why stop there? If fifteen people LOVE EACH OTHER, who are WE to say they shoulldn't 'formalize' their relationship? Hell, if a girl and her pony love each other, why not allow that too? Perfectly natural extension of what's already out there. :p

Sex is something done between legally consenting adults. Marriage is done between legally consenting adults, which is why we get in such an uproar over child brides (and rightfully so.)

When did sex become a matter of law? Animals are perfectly capable of walking away from any encounter they don't want. Legal consent is irrelevant.

And interspecies sex takes place with or without your consent.

I can't tell if you're trolling or not. Animals are taught to be obedient and to respond to restraint (e.g: leashes). They're not able to objectively say, "I don't want this and have the right to say no." Because they cannot give universally understood consent, we cannot call it anything but animal abuse.

Of course. But they're related and are often able to produce viable offspring, such as mules or coydogs. The only remotely similar situation we could find ourselves with would be sex with chimps or bonobos, and I'm fairly certain no one actually wants to contemplate the ethical implications.

Yes, I know they do, but it is often between each other. Animals respond differently to each other than with humans, because we train them to respond differently and expect different interaction. Because animals are taught to engage with people as subordinates and not as fellows or equals, it is not remotely on the same level.
