well a bunch of my family smoke i dont and never and dont plan on it but as far as i can tell it really is not that bad unless you make it bad so would have no problem doing it
I haven't denied anything, I asked what is your concept of "drug" The fact that you called people who do drugs "idiots" makes me believe you don't have a really good frame of reference of what drugs are.
pot and cocaine are two totally different things... different chemicals...different effects, the same with meth...
THC or Cannabis(which you call "pot") can actually be used for medical purposes. Patients with Glaucoma can use THC to alleviate intraocular pressure(which is just one medical use for THC.) "Pot" also can be used to relax muscles and allow additional blood flow to the brain. I don't think I need to mention how "pot" is a safer recreational drug than alcohol, but I guess I just did.
Yeah, i never said alcohol and tobacco were good to have either. In fact, I'm against them too. But if people wanna smoke or whatever i don't really care. They should just legalize cause there's no point. Thats what I've been saying
much of Europe has defanged the illegal drug trade. they have decriminalized even the most heavy duty drugs. suddenly, you can't make huge amounts of money on the black market any more. people take their prescriptions to the pharmacy and that's that.
private industry gets paid, the government gets money in taxes and the criminals don't. what could be better?
legalizing marijuana would be a good first step. I don't expect this hysterical country to take the next logical step for a long, long time. but, it's a start.
There is no reason why Obama and his drugged out administration should be allowed to do drugs free and clearly... Even your garbage collecter must take a drug test; but the mafia in Washington do not. As long as Washington can stay blitzed on great Mexican drug cartel drugs, tax their asses for it. Make it legal, so the current administration can at least be 5% legal.
While legalizing MJ would take OC out of the picture, and bring prices down, I don't think it would be a good idea at the current time. While it's true that MJ is not addictive, or harmful (unless taken in very large amounts, in which case fatal encephalitis can result after decades of heavy use), it is the gateway drug to other chemicals (cocaine, heroin, morphine, etc.) that lead to overdoses, medical costs, ruined lives, lost productivity, etc. I wouldn't be in favor of legalizing MJ unless the penalties for using other illegal narcotics were made high enough that demand for them shrinks to near zero.
it is a gateway drug precisely because it is illegal. if you buy marijuana at the drugstore or the 7-11, you don't come in contact with those who sell the harder stuff. you never find out HOW to buy cocaine or heroin.
because, today, you buy marijuana from the same people who sell the hard stuff -- you get introduced to it much more easily.
There's no question that part of the "moving up the ladder" is due to salesmanship from the dope pushers. But I'm sure part of it is also due to people becoming desensitized to weaker highs and then looking for stronger ones. I would want the "stronger ones" completely unavailable before I could support legalizing MJ. Making MJ legal will increase the user base, and hence increase the demand for stronger drugs down the road.
That's not true, you are speaking from lack of knowledge. People who smoke marijuana don't get de-sensitized, that idea may have been spread by the DARE program, which told me when I was younger that "You'll never get as high as the first time...." which is completely false.
Besides, you don't know if the user base would increase. MJ has been around for centuries, people know about it. If they want to use it, they will use it, regardless of it being illegal.
