Latest Polls show Romney and Obama in a dead heat, Who do you think has the edge?

In what seems to be standard weekly numbers, the latest polls from ABC News/Washington Post show Romney and Obama tied at 47 %. It is shaping up to be an epic battle. Bad news for Obama however as 63% of voters feel the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction.
What appears as more bad news for Obama, iis the fact he is losing in a key demographic for him, the swing voters and independents, by a record 14%. He is also suffering in the health care and illegal immigration departments with about 50% blaming him for the current problems.
Despite all this the puzzling thing is, when asked who they thought would prevail in the November election, a whopping 58% believe Obama will prevail over Romney, who got only 34% in this category.

Factor in continued high unemployment and a weak weak economy and that 62% believe the country is going the wrong direction - Romney does have the edge
