In what seems to be standard weekly numbers, the latest polls from ABC News/Washington Post show Romney and Obama tied at 47 %. It is shaping up to be an epic battle. Bad news for Obama however as 63% of voters feel the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction.

dead heat

What appears as more bad news for Obama, iis the fact he is losing in a key demographic for him, the swing voters and independents, by a record 14%. He is also suffering in the health care and illegal immigration departments with about 50% blaming him for the current problems.

omama in trouble

Despite all this the puzzling thing is, when asked who they thought would prevail in the November election, a whopping 58% believe Obama will prevail over Romney, who got only 34% in this category.

Who do you think has the edge right now?

New Rasmussen poll out today has Romney 47% Hussein 44%. Not a good spot for the incumbent to be in at this point in the game. This reminds me of Reagan/Carter, all the polls showed a tight race right up to election day, but we all know what happened...Reagan in a landslide.

The president will blow Romney away in the debates and when the american people start to realize how bad Romney is for the country they will support obama - Romney's only job has been making money for himself and his wealthy co-horts - this hardly qualifies him to be president!

Romney has the edge in that he hasn't been a blundering, stuttering, incompetent, money pissing away idiot for the last 3 plus years. A vote for Obama is a vote for the complete financial downfall of this country. Is Romney going to do any better? That's a chance I'm willing to take because we certainly can't afford another 4 years of Obamanomics.

Romney probably has the edge by the fact so many free thinkers are starting to realize just what Obama has done ( which is basically nothing ) and the damage he has caused. However had the MSM given equal coverage to Dr. Paul I think Obama would not stand a chance of reelection ! All they give Ron Paul was negative coverage from day one to help their chosen one to get an opponent that would be easier for him to contend with which is Romney !

I believe Romney has the edge - Obama has spent over 100 million on TV ads, some 62,500 (rounded) and according to the people who study these things, 52,000 have been negative attacks on Romney. Romney has run some 17,000 and spent far less; his ads have been mostly positive. Apparently, the negatives attacks are not working as well as expected or they would not be in a virtual dead heat.

Factor in continued high unemployment and a weak weak economy and that 62% believe the country is going the wrong direction - Romney does have the edge

No she is not nuts. She is correct. Obama and his allies have outspent Romney's side on ads so far by almost a third. Although the TV spots didn't start earlier than in recent elections, there have been more than ever before — including a negative flood from the new breed of super PACs — and they are continuing without the traditional summertime letup.

"Romney's campaign and pro-Romney outside groups together spent $12.4 million on advertisements to run between June 20 and June 26, the data show, including more than $1 million in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia each — and more than $2 million in Ohio."
"Team Obama and outside groups, meanwhile, spent just over $9 million, including more than $1 million apiece in Florida, Ohio, and Virginia. In total, Republicans outspent Democrats in 10 of the 11 swing states where ads ran this week."

this from National Journal June 23 2012.

I honestly don't think a single poll no matter the source should be considered accurate but rather an average of all the polls is more reliable.
