Labor force participation rate at a 20 year LOW

keymanjim 2012/05/29 23:00:42
Before you start believing the progressive's lies about obama's job growth, you need to look at the real jobs numbers. The labor force participation rate.

real jobs numbers labor force participation rate httpdata bls govpdqsurveyoutputservlet

63.6% the last time they were this low was in December of 1981.

Unlike unemployment numbers, which can be manipulated by ignoring people that have fallen of the far end of the employment rolls or by paying people to go to schools, the labor force participation rate measures the percentage of eligible people actually working.
The last time the numbers were this low was over 20 years ago. The difference back then is that they were going up. Now, they are dropping.

Chalk up another loss for the obama admin.

But, they have. Those that have given up and no longer collect unemployment are not counted as unemployed.

Wow... anyone can read graphs and look at numbers... but do they understand them...

    Hmmm

I found it interesting that the peak of employment both seasonal (LNS11300000) and not seasonal (LNU01300000) affected employments (did you bother to quantify your 63.7 as "seasonal") was during the last three years of the Clinton Administration... Of course the first couple of months and multiple trips to the ranch there was a slip of the employment rate...

I will agree... the employment rate is sad. It's really difficult to say that which of the 63.6 survived from having their jobs shipped overseas as both LNS11300000 and LNU01300000 are primarily "Civilian Labor Force Participation Rate". There is a whole lot more data to dig into, compile and and at least report on to make a semi education report.

You're no data analyst... but thank for trying. Nice that you found a hobby.

You should look at the Projections data

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to the previously mentioned "spin".

It's not that hard to understand. LFPR is a 63.6%. The last time it was at 63.6% was in 1981.

    Get it?

There are some with eyes that can not see, there are some with ears that can not hear, and there are some that can not get enough Kool-Aid. And those are the one's that will be voting for Incumbent.
