Krauthammer on Biden: "There is a fitness problem here"

Charles Krauthammer always seems to have the right words!
“He [Biden] is an embarrassment,” Krauthammer said. “The only reason I take it seriously and take umbrage is because the guy is so off the wall that you sort of expected [it]. He is like Manny Ramirez for the Red Sox. He catches an out with only one out in the inning, a man on base and he tosses the ball into the stands. You know, it’s Manny being Manny. So, this is a guy that nobody takes seriously. I think there is a fitness problem here. The bar … is [so] low because of all the crazy stuff he says that you got to ask yourself, is this a guy you want a heartbeat away?”
Predictably, Evan Thomas, the man who called 0bama God and the person responsible for driving the last nails into Newsweek's coffin, defended Biden, and attempted to laugh off the fact that the Vice President is a stark-raving imbecile:
“Biden is Biden,” insisted former Newsweek editor Evan Thomas, now a columnist for Politico. “I don’t think he is going to be a disaster, because everybody knows he has a big mouth, and all sides know that. And he is going to shoot his mouth off. So this is just one more bump in the road.”

If anyone had concerns about the prospect of Sarah Palin inheriting the presidency, they should be doubly concerned about Biden.
When it's time for Joe to go, he will be diagnosed with Alzheimer's or some other form of dementia. Then he will resign from the campaign for health reasons, while Obama introduces a "new and improved" VP. This action is less than 3 weeks away. Obama's alternative is a "throw in the towel" campaign -- just keep phoning it in until election day.
